I am so impressed with Allpoetry.com.
I have become addicted in only one month.
I've written 55 poems in that time.
I can't stop writing I enter the contests daily and the work is extrordinary to read other poems globally can't do that at the local bookstore open mic or reading.

Interestingly the sometimes humerous or serious prompts of words or images have made me grow in a challenging way.
I highly recommend this site to build your writing skills to give critiques and get feedback of your work.
The small fee to be a silver or gold member is worth it.
Take my opinion I have enjoyed all aspects of this site it motivates me to write each day.

P.S. I also notice some of the reviews they are not good are for a different site.
Read people least get it right that's why we write.

I have read a lot of the review on here and disagree. First about being billed after you cancwl the subscription. I go back and forth from paid to free depending on how often I use it. I have never been billed after I cancel it not does it seem to be a issue for others i have talked to. As for people being rude yes I have experienced some hateful comments crossing the line of constructive criticism to just pure meanness. But lets face it this is the world we live in. People can be mean. I have learned from many and I some suggestions I use others I dont. Its up to me. Now as for the free tshirt after a year of paid subscription, I want mine.

Recently, my family discovered someone has been using information about my late Aunt and writing what they consider to be "poetry". My Aunt's name is Cheryl L Wilcox, the person who is writing this stuff goes by "CraigZaidel", (approximately 4 months ago). If this person does not stop, we will conduct further investigation(s) and press charges slander. Please take this as an extremely serious ONE time warning. Anyone willing to help will be greatly appreciated.

AllPoetry is like a city, full of all sorts of people; you gravitate to those you get om with, rub shoulders with strangers, and every now and then meet someone you never want to meet again. Posting poems on the site gives me a sounding board; it is interesting to see which of my work is praised. Contests are fun; I never mind who wins; the contest judge works from their own point of view. For a couple of years I was a Free Member then thought it worth while supporting financially buy being a Full Member (and I get rid of Ads) In my first years I found a number of people who would give me detailed critiques and would listen to my critiques; I miss that now. Most responses are bland in praise, not specific to the poem, and very rarely does anyone give me a detailed breakdown of what worked, and what improvements should be made. I am grateful to Kevin for overseeing this vast city of a website. AFXB

Although at first I enjoyed my stay there, I soon figured out how people could easily harass you. Of course, one would opt t report t the moderator, which I did, only to receive a message "That is not grounds for harassment. Please add the user to your ignore list". Okay then. Subsequently, if you see the contests hosted there by various hosts, you can see the same people are winning everytime. It's not an act of envy as I have won a number of contests. I just wish the tick for the "Hide author details when judging" is always activated, that way hosts wouldn't know which entries are which. Lastly, plagiarism is very much dominating the site. You can literally see someone just copy paste a poem or song from another site and use it as a contest entry, and even win. I reported such poems and some have been removed. However, no action is done on the user. The user would just plagiarize again and I'll report once again. It's simply an endless cycle of reporting and plagiarizing.

I have practically grown beside AP having been a member for almost a decade and I am certain that I will continue to grow beside it for at least another.

AllPoetry offers an easily accessible outlet indiscriminately to pre-teens and elders alike without forcing payments in exchange (which is the fundamental reason I am happy to pay for a membership where able). AP's terms and conditions do not prevent you from publishing your work elsewhere, nor do they retain any rights over your content other than to publish it on their site- this is increasingly difficult to come by lately and something I vehemently appreciate. The site creates a safe place for people looking to explore, grow and share through their writing and has an excellent community should you take the time to engage with them. The only thing I feel is missing is a block user feature should any unwanted confrontation or attention occur, though I have yet to experience this.

Please take care to identify the difference between a disgruntled individual and an objective, honest review.

After taking down my initial review I sat back and watched the display. The person stalking me has been visiting this page rather frequently. When they do so it is either to compliment allpoetry or deride it all in the same breath. I came to this website months ago to speak about my experiences over the years. I wrote that I was being stalked on and offline. The owner's reply to me was most unsatisfactory. He choose to blame me. When all the while the fetid despicable excuse for a human being page was and still is up and running. Confident in their shroud of anonymity. And perhaps doing the same thing to God knows how many people. How can such actions ever be considered as just?

As adults we are responsible for what we post. I take full responsibility for my opinions and everything in between. I used the site on and off for almost ten years. Allpoetry use to be a great place to write. There was so much passion, and joy in the written word. I was in my own little world, and it was wonderful. I learned much. I opened up myself and put myself out there unafraid of criticism. I learned to express myself in different ways. I shall always appreciate this fact.

Such does not take away from today's reality. I never asked for this, yet I am forced to deal with this every day. Someone has made my life very difficult for many many years. You had an opportunity to help me yet you have chosen silence. Such inaction is most despicable. I wonder how any one of you that run this site would feel, if the person who has been doing this to me and others would suddenly focus their obsessive attention on you and yours?

It has been a nightmare. It is the epitamy of everything that is $#*!ed up and sick in this world.

I've been with AP for a few years and I'm only just now coming across reviews. After reading a few, it's pretty clear its a good representative cross section of our current society. Some people appreciative of what they have, and then those that feel they're owed something more. You know, the ones that think it's their right to be rude and then can't believe when they're dumped. The PC responses given to some of these are far better than they deserve. I teach my young son that there's never a reason to be rude, but unfortunately he's witnessed how flawed I am when confronted with rude people. Don't like something? Your reaction to it speaks volumes to your character and maturity. For example, I happen to be a minority that has learned that we are offended by what we CHOOSE to be offended by. I simply choose NOT to be offended. That denies the offender their cheap victory. Don't like Allpoetry? Fine, there's dozens of other sites. But rude people will search for that "perfect" site. The one that allows them to be judge AND jury. You know why we have thousands of religions today? Because as soon as we heard something we didn't like, we started a new religion. So my advice to the rude people? If you DO find the perfect poetry site, do that site a huge favor and don't join. That's the only hope they have at STAYING perfect.

I find AP one of the very best sites to post your poetry and to get positive feedbacks. You will be recognised, criticised and appreciated at the same time. This will be a manure to your budding poetry.

Most of the users are talented and creative in their own way.If you have the vastness of mind to enjoy each and every type of poems, and if you have the urge to find different styles of poetry, AP is the best place!

There are a very few people who scribble something that doesn't make sense, but Most of the writers are very talented.

I read writings of different poets &thus I understand different styles of writings, different viewpoints and different attitudes. This helps me understand poetry & human perspectives better!

I would thank Kevin for such a wonderful site :). In my opinion, the site can be made better and visually appealing in the course of time.

Everyone I've met on this site is very nice. They give a lot of feedback. They have poetry classes classes showing how to effectively give feedback. Poetry classes to teach poetry from the basics and on up.

What I like most about this site is they do not descriminate against Budding poets who want to learn poetry. They don't descriminate against whether you're gay, straight, christian, non christian... I would recommend this site to anyone.

There are always issues and such. I haven't been bullied on this site but there are somethings I don't understand. I think there are a lot of favorites who win in many contests especially the main ones by Kevin but pure evil because it promotes homosexual and bisexual poets. Wow have to disagree with the evil part. I don't like everything on the site but peoe have been pretty cool to me. I dont care about if they are bi or gay and guess what I'm a Christian and proud of it. Never had troubles with bullies on here. I use to have more trouble over at poetry.com.

Will support Pornographic Materials for Minors, Take Your Money, Then Ban Those That Tell Other Users To Mark Their Inappropriate Graphic Materials to Minors and Kick Them Off Versus Getting All Sides or Investigate. Threatens those who write about Christian Beliefs and is Operating Out of The United States. Owner Kevin Watt will not return emails to any rebuttal thus ridding due process using We have the right to refuse anyone.
