I contacted JM Brunette on AKC marketplace to purchase a Papillon for breeding. She insured in writing that I would have full breeding rights. Picking the puppy up from the airport all that was given was vet papers. Was told that we would get the AKC papers in the mail. After not receiving them and being blocked on the Marketplace by Brunette I reached out to AKC marketplace customer service. After several months of back and forth I finally received the AKC puppy paperwork but did not get breeding rights as the number was blacked out. I again reached out to AKC marketplace and in a nutshell told me it was my problem and not theirs even though they had all of the transcripts saying that she was going to give me breeding rights. I feel as though they all scammed me!
AKC has always been about advertising puppy mills. Not rescue. Not humane treatment of animals. Just marketing for puppy mills. Let that soak in.

Unlike in EU dogs most have something special in order to breed them not only health but most excel at some type of work unlike akc or they care about is the fee nothing else is a joke!.
Dont fall for US breeders as most breed for money not quality, you are buying sa product not a living animal.

I want to share my deeply disappointing experience with this breeder. Despite signing a contract and eagerly awaiting my puppy, the breeder abruptly reneged on the sale, which not only caused inconvenience but also raises ethical concerns. This sudden change of heart is not only unprofessional but morally wrong as it impacts both the emotional well-being of the buyer and the welfare of the puppy involved. Breeder lacks professionalism as well as commitment. Prospective buyers should be cautious when considering this breeder. I was also speaking with the transporter as well, he told me he was doing great with time and might be arriving earlier than anticipated. She did refunded my money back, but all the money I spend out of pocket for the arrival of the puppy was not. Who does this 8 hours before the puppy was suppose to be deliveredI also want to add that she quoted me $3000 and on good dog her price is advertised at $2500.!
If you buy packages from other hospital or Vet they won't pay for those vaccine or any service that you already pre paid by those heqlth packages. This insurance is a huge scam. Don't buy it.
Mr. Dennis Sprung - AKC President and CEO, Ms. Heather McManus, AKC Senior Attorney, Ms. Erica Ruff, AKC Corporate Attorney. AKC failed to confirm Trevor's registration and proof of ownership prior to wrongfully accepting and recording a fraudulent Notification without my name and illegal transfer of stolen semen (7 vials) to Connie Townsend and Lynn Brady wrongfully signed by Henry and Karen Nichols. There are no frozen semen records to record without my name and signature on Exhibit 1 and my name and address on "Notification of Canine Semen Extraction, Freezing and Storage". I never authorized Trevor's semen to be collected and recorded with the listed Registry at time of collection. ALL registered owners must sign Exhibit 1 in order for a collection statement to be issued in the name of myself as well as the Nichols to support AKC cover up records dated May 25,2022 and May 17,2023. Ms. Heather McManus, AKC Senior Attorney realized there was a legal issue without my name and address on AKC records. My name was illegally added to AKC records dated more than twenty years ago and sometime after AKC was contacted by the Dept. of Justice. Trevor's frozen semen records are ineligible for recording without my consent and signature on Exhibit 1 and must be removed from AKC records. I look forward to a response. Sincerely, Darla Lofranco - Breeder/Owner

Dear Darla,
The AKC did not accept the transfer of the frozen semen from the Nichols to Connie Townsend and Lynn Brady as your signature was not on the transfer. The frozen semen from Trevor is recorded in your name as well as the Nichols. As stated previously, any one of the recorded owners can sign an AKC litter application.
Comment - Any one of the recorded owners can NOT sign an AKC frozen semen litter application without my signature on Exhibit 1 and Notification/collection statement in the name of myself as well as the Nichols to support AKC records dated May 25,2022.
I chose an AKC registered breeder because I thought they had to qualify as far as health goes, but I was wrong. I bought a puppy from Schnauzer Heaven Von Longbach aka Tricia Stevenson. I thought the AKC made breeders test for the genetic eye condition that plagues the schnauzer breed. Schnauzer Heaven does not do that test. I also thought the AKC would assure a breeder doesn't sell dogs with birth, or genetic, defects. When we brought our puppy home from Schnauzer Heaven, we immediately noticed behavior that indicated a neurological problem. When we took her for walks, she would cry like it was hurting her, then after a short distance she would sit down and not move. She can't jump up into our laps. We lowered our bed and built a ramp for her. She has sphincter incontinence. And her activity level/energy meter is way different than other dogs. When you pay 2,800.00 (plus) for a dog, you expect to get a healthy dog. Unfortunately, we did not get a healthy dog. Now we have years of hardship and vet medical bills. We are so depressed and angry about this, and we will never trust the AKC again. From now on, we will go to a rescue.

AKCreunite AKC
If I could rate negative stars I would. I will NEVER EVER recommend these two organizations to anyone EVER!
Over 20 years ago I purchased a purebred dog with AKC parents but was told I could not register her because their exact reason "we have too many poodles at this time" what? Well since I wasn't going to breed for commercial purposes no big deal…. Now I purchase a rescue dog who is microchipped with AKCreunite.
The person who completed the adoption form for me used their information instead of mine (yes I know, who does that right?) and now my life is full of nightmares.
Multiple phone calls and 3 X that amount of e-mails and the nightmares get worse.
AKCreunite is only willing to change lost dog contact to have me called should dog be lost/stole/found, but no way in Hades will they change dog owners name.
I set up an AKCreunite account to update my dogs vet info, correct name spelling, add visual characteristics etc. BUT I'M NOT ALLOWED TO ADD MY OWN DOG TO MY ACCOUNT.
Why not? BECAUSE they say he's not my dog. I have contacted them by phone/e-mail, the person who filled out form incorrectly called/e-mailed and the rescue organization has contacted them as well.
I am even willing to pay transfer fee and keep getting the same old broken record directions hiw to do it on-line. But every time I have tried, no less than ten times, I get same error message that the dog belongs to someone else.
They say fill out paper form, request it by e-mail. Tried that. You got it right, error message saying it's not my dog, so they won't send it.
Therefore I am through dealing with them. So I tried deleting the account I set up with them, apparently that's not allowed either. What a joke this organization is.
They need to hire more people when it takes an average of 1/2 hr for them to even answer the phone They're rude and they cut you off if you're asking questions they dont want to answer Just like all the corporations are doing now a days...Many are valid questions and should be answerd... Just a tip, if you question them they wil tell you they are a registry service and hat you're not a member of AKC Not sure what kind of club it is if it doesnt have members But good luck getting a check from my dog They are only helpful if you are paying them for something This club is so UN-AMERICAN its insane! They allow mutts to participate now too... I didn't pay money to join a mixed breed mutt club. I paid to join a purebred dog club Please don't get me wrong, all dogs deserve love... but not all dogs are purebred dogs either Its a big difference A far cry from the elite purebred club I paid to join
I recently bought a pup whom I foolishly took home without the paperwork. I trusted Top Dogg Giant Schnauzers. 2 months later after asking I get the paperwork. To my surprise the AKC Litter Certificates says my pups parents AND the grandparents were brother and sister from same litter. Upon contacting AKC they said they do not have a policy on "inbreeding" they leave that up to the discretion of the breeders. Really! Doesn't that increase the chances of the pups from such a litter being genetic cesspools? Buy a pup from a breeder that has a "Genetic" and "Health" guarantee.
Bought my dog an American Kennel Club, hard plastic tug of war, squeaky toy. I gave it to him, I saw him shaking his head back and forth which of course I thought he was playing with it and then I realized it was stuck in his mouth and under his chin! Absolutely worse toy I've ever bought! Will never buy from this company again!
I have emailed several requests to the AKC Fit Dog address. Two for Turkey Trot medals and one for Fit Dog checklist for instructors. I have had no responsive from AKC. Please respond to my emails. Thank you.
I agree with a lot of what others have already stated here and I hope more people can come to recognize how terrible the AKC really is. Just another corporate money scheme. The AKC gets their money from litters of puppies, period. They don't care who bred them or the operations behind it. It's disappointing & I hope another association can become the "good-guy" here because it's clear who the bad one is. Not only that, but in some cases it's been YEARS since the AKC standard of specific breeds has been updated. When are they going to change? There's long-haired German Shepherds out there that are bred to a better standard than the ones you see in the Westminster dog shows. The standards need to be updated & more importantly, followed by these high-level dog show judges. There are weather-proofed long-haired shepherds, which was the original reason they were docked (as it was thought they weren't). It's disappointing enough that you allow the dogs who show at the Westminster level to compete with a clear roached back (which is supposed to be a BIG no-no under YOUR standards.) It's all a joke in my book. More people need to come after you guys & I hope soon enough this "woke" country will.
Definitely NOT impressed whatsoever with the AKC DNA department. I sent my dogs DNA in for a genetic health and color test about 4 months ago. After about 2 months of waiting I called and emailed these people asking what the status was on it. They then proceeded to tell me that it must have gotten lost in the mail because they never received it. Very much so frustrated, I had them send me another DNA kit. After receiving the kit I literally swabbed my dog and sent it back in to them that same day. After waiting a few weeks, I called again to check the status and got some lady who had told me the DNA results were on their way to me I n the mail. Fast forward to just a few days ago which was even a few weeks after talking to the last lady, I called because I still hadn't received my dogs results in the mail. I get ahold of some very rude lady who obviously was not happy to help me one bit. I give her my dogs information and ask her what the deal is with the DNA which she then tells me that my dogs DNA does not match the parents so I will not be getting my dogs DNA nor will I be able register any of his current pups until they solve the case with the breeders I got him from! Like seriously, why do you guys have to lie to me like that? First you tell me it's on its way in the mail and then this? I have puppies I need to register and this is hurting MY business and MY livelihood all because you can't get your $#*! together! DO BETTER!
AKC single-handedly to blame for puppy millers, abused breeding dogs; the breeders ARE the AKC's customers; when production drops, they send out employees to help get numbers back up; disgusting.
You think because you find your dog on the AKC website you're not getting a dog from a puppy mill? Think again. I called spoke to Pam whom was very rude, and was told point blank" puppy mills can post and sell on out AKC site. The puppies can be sickly, have fleas and worms. Not our problem, we only take care of the registration ". Disgusting
I have been scammed purchasing a cane corso i contacted akc i told them thaat my dog look more like lab then cane corso they did not suport me what so ever
I just purchased a stuffing free dinosaur dog toy, my dog consumes the stuffing and chokes so I thought it would be great. But I watched him rip it open and it was completely filled with stuffing
I bought a microchip tag from them after registering my dog and after just two weeks it's chipped and faded. This is the AKC. Surely they can afford to have decent quality tags. You're better off buying an engraved tag (for cheaper) with the microchip ID instead.
Answer: Don't ask AKC about honest breeders. I train dogs for service and I've been repeatedly bought purebreds from an AKC breeder who puts out genetically defective pups that die early and horribly. AKC DOES NOT CARE!
Answer: Scam-https://petscams.com/puppy-scammer-list/demainpoodles-com/
Answer: I believe this place is a scam. They answer emails right away until you ask for an AKC Registration number for the pup. Also they request payment via walmart or western union so you can't do a chargeback if they are fraud.
