Am warning anyone considering Airalo: DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. My account was hacked, my password was changed without my knowledge, and someone made fraudulent purchases through my Airalo account. I immediately contacted support — it took them over 12 hours to even respond. When they finally did, they refunded only ONE of the unauthorized charges. I had to go through my credit card company myself to fight the rest of the fraudulent activity. Even worse, after I tried to delete my account (thinking it was safe), the hacker somehow got back in and charged even MORE using the "credit" Airalo had left. Clearly, their security measures are incredibly weak and they do not take hacking seriously. Customer service was slow, dismissive, and unhelpful. They offered no real support, no apology, no urgency at all. It's horrifying how little they seem to care about the safety of their customers' personal information and money. After digging around, I found MANY other people reporting the exact same issues — hacked accounts, unauthorized charges, and terrible customer service. This is NOT a one-off situation. I will be reporting Airalo to every consumer protection agency I can, and pursuing whether there has been a data breach they have failed to disclose.
Airalo requires that I connect to the O2.de network. This is not available in the region I am in. I have tried contacting Airalo for more than a week to either resolve this or get a refund. They do not reply.
I bought a 2 GB eSim card from Airalo for my trip to Las Vegas. After completing all their instructions for installation and from customer support (card details shows active in Airalo app) I have been ducking into Las Vegas Hotel Casinos to be able to use WiFi for internet access and Google Maps to find destinations in and around Las Vegas all day and night long. Customer support which is non-existent suggested that I should uninstall and re-use it later another time when I'm in USA again which is contradictory to their installation instructions. I just want a credit back to my credit card.
I also was charged 3 days roaming fees from my primary network card operator Fido when I got back home to Canada. I managed to get one roaming day waived because of the Airalo esim card but still have to pay $24 plus tax.
So the way to get money back from Airalo is to knock it off with all the niceties (please and thank you's). I basically said every
F-bomb and f-word in the book to their chat support.
I said to go bleep this and go bleep that. I swore like a banshee and was very persistent in my swearing. Not only did I get my credit card refunded but Airalo also gave me $10.45 in airtime money...which I will never use. Do not waste your money and time on this product. Shop somewhere else. I hope this helps you all get your money back from Airalo. It worked for me. Thank you
