I signed up for the free trial. Upon looking around their site, it was complicated and convoluted. I immediately cancelled my membership. They charged my credit card $295. When I contacted them to ask for a refund, they said they never received my cancellation and couldn't contact me because I opted out of email. It was apparent I did not use their service, and I contacted them the day after my trial was supposed to end. I've since seen similar postings from others.
AdvisoryCloud has truly revolutionized the way I approach my professional journey. The platform is a goldmine for executives and companies alike, providing unparalleled access to a global network of accomplished professionals and innovative businesses.
The moment I created my advisor profile, I was impressed with the user-friendly interface, the emphasis on showcasing my unique skill sets, and the potential for global visibility. It didn't take long for me to start connecting with companies who valued my expertise and were eager to leverage it for their growth.
One of the standout features of AdvisoryCloud is the digital boardroom – an intuitive, secure space that facilitates meaningful, real-time collaborations. I've had insightful discussions, provided strategic advice, and learned a great deal from other advisors through this feature.
What's more, the opportunity to join various advisory boards has been a significant career booster. From startups to established enterprises, the range of companies on the platform has allowed me to diversify my experience and expand my professional network.
AdvisoryCloud also stands out in its commitment to advisor growth. From providing a dedicated account manager to ensuring seamless integration with LinkedIn for optimal profile promotion, they have left no stone unturned in providing value to their members.
Set up a free 1-week trial to play around on the platform and see if it'd be valuable for me. I had a couple major issues with the platform:
(1) Value—I'm a strategy consultant in the health tech space, so was looking for startups aligned with my expertise. While there were a couple, they were obviously unfundable / not well thought out business concepts (i.e., not even salvageable without pivoting to a new idea altogether). Several non healthcare startups reached out to invite me to sit on their board, which would make zero sense given they operate in markets I know next to nothing about. Overall, left with a feeling that there's not a ton of real value exchange going on here.
(2) Ethics of the company—I cancelled my trial subscription on the 7th day, but was a mere hour or two after the exact time I initiated the trial 7 days prior. I was shocked to see a $195 charge go through for one month of additional access. After explaining the situation, customer service and a supervisor both declined to offer a refund. This business truly operates in bad faith and I can't fathom what kind of leaders, team, and culture prey on consumers (this was a personal, not business expense for me) to eke out some extra subscription revenue. Disgusting professional behavior that I would tell any of my network to avoid on principle, beyond the fact that the value of the platform itself is low.
If Advisory Cloud is legal it is barely legal, otherwise an outright scam. I signed up for this, received none of the benefits promised and wrote it off. Then I got notice of a $285 deduction from my account called Advisory Cloud and asked for the fee to be refunded and the account closed. They closed the account but would not refund the $285 telling me that I should have notified them "15 days before the billing that I wished the account to be closed." I asked how I would know when the 15 day period began I was told that was my problem. Absolutely avoid these people.
Pay attention to the subscription aspect as it can be difficult to get a refund once it renews. Leadership team was very helpful.
Beware if sign up for a trial with your credit card. They will automatically bill you without further authorization. They will not refund if you miss the trial expiration.
Your initial fee $1K provides signing up for a single board. Never heard from sign-up on recommended board. Signing up looks like you get put in a chat room offering free advice.
Since they would not refund the day they charged me and I escalated to management and dispute submitted to the bank was refused with AdvisoryCloud refering to their online agreement for trial and the bank accepted it.
Note, be advised if you like chatting for free, for $1K you can have one active so-called board membership. Checking to add board interest to posting, found for adding another board beyond one would be an upgrade for $Ks.
Complete scam, worthless service.
Don't do what they promise! No emails, no contacts. Billed me before trial period was over. When I cancelled they offered me a 50% discount to stay. Why not offer that price in the first place. Although I woudn't pay them $5 because they offered no service. Now I continue to fight for a refund they shouldn't have charged me for anyway.
Scam site offering false promises and high fees. They promote absurd promises of high fee board positions, have none and constantly spam email and advertise agressively.
Looks like the business model includes taking your monthly subscription and refusing any sort of refund or money back, even one half day into the cycle.
I entered into a trial membership with AdvisoryCloud.com and, after an "Onboarding session" with Liz Avila on December 14th, I expressed my inability to evaluate and continue the trial due to year-end commitments. Despite wanting to cancel, I was assured I had until December 22nd to decide.
On the 22nd, when attempting to cancel, I discovered a discrepancy in the information provided. Although told I had until the 22nd, I had until a specific time on that day to cancel. Trixia, after a lengthy conversation, assured me that my 1-month trial would be converted to a 3-month trial, extending through February 22nd.
On January 19th, I found I was billed $195 for the membership. Support claimed I had "admitted" to failing to cancel, contradicting the understanding from my conversation with Trixia.
Throughout interactions, canceling the trial membership proved difficult, suggesting the company prioritizes revenue over transparency. Conflicting statements and an unwillingness to cancel the trial have left me frustrated and disappointed I had not researched this company adequately.
Joined a year ago and had no success or consults for any real companies. This site is a total scam and they just rebill you like clockwork
This company is a scam. Their customer service is horrendous. Their offering isn't client focused. There is no transparency.
Not worth the money, a real joke. Boards are just there to pump money out of the board members. Stay away.
I was able to get good advice for my startup. The new improvements on the new site are also making it easier to get feedback.
Quick to fix an issue after a billing dispute. I appreciate Sara's quick response and quick resolution
