“I tried the site for 1 month then cancelled the fee. You can create a profile for fee also!”

After using/paying for the site for one month, I am A little disappointed because of their monthly fee of around $20 and the limiting factor of just their members database. Although they show over 1 million profiles, this is a global service so that number is high but not that high. The Main Bad thing about the site is the $20 monthly fee will charge every month till you cancel. Because I know many of us don't cancel such fees after 1 month of use like we should. It is easy to cancel though if you are disciplined, just $20 isn't bad. Plus it looks like you cancel early and still use it for the full month you paid for. There are some good things about the site. You can create a profile for free and you can pay for a month and then cancel. While you are a paid member, you can search and contact similar opposing profiles. You build a simple profile of who you are looking for with the information you have. Then the system shows possible opposing matches in their system of other members. You manually look at the possible matches sorted by how much of a match it is. You contact the possible match through their e-mail system and wait for a response where you get a notice in your e-mail letting you know you have a reply in their system e-mail. The site is well done and it is one way you might connect with your natural parents/child. I did receive a reply from a few members who were not exact matches but I sent them a message just in case. One of the profile replies shared with me some helpful info about how in my state, the adoption records through the courts. So this site is useful and you might find who you are looking for there. But both parties need to create a free profile and at least one of the parties must pay for at least one month so they can search matches and contact the other party. The newest modern way to find someone is opening the adoption records by the adopted or both parties doing dna testing to find each other. Best of luck.

“This site is anti-abortion, but it isn't up front about...”

This site is anti-abortion, but it isn't up front about it. So if you come to this site seeking information about your options if you are pregnant, you won't get the all the information, and some of it will be inaccurate. However, this page claims to be a comprehensive site about both sides of adoption. For example, in the US "Elective abortion is not legal everywhere" is a false statement. (The same site has a list of laws by state, implying this site focuses on the US.) Other pages have hyped up warnings about abortion, and some pages that should mention abortion, like pages about considering your options, don't mention it at all. The subtlety of this website is the most insidious part. (This page appears to be connected to a "maternity house.") You don't know what you are getting. Or not getting.

Adoption.com is an incredible website. They have probably answered any adoption-related question you could think of. They have how-to articles, step articles, guides, and more. They have photolistings of children, a reunion registry, and a profile section for hopeful adoptive parents. I think they are a great resource for anyone considering adoption.

Tip for consumers:
Consider opening the court records if you are the adopted and it's allowed in your state.

Otherwise, do a DNA test and also the adopted.com site:
Do the free profile.
Consider doing 1 month membership so you can look for opposing matches.

Tip for consumers:
A lot of "crisis pregnancy" organizations work in a similar way, making it seem like they want to help a scared woman, when their real goal is to get them not to have an abortion at any cost. Don't go to these places unless you have already decided to adopt. Otherwise, you won't get the whole story.
