I had this in my notifications today:

*Closing Soon: The Dirt Road Photo Contest.
*I found the contest and clicked on Submit Photos.
*Since I had to find a photo to submit, I closed out ViewBug (did not log out).
*Took quite awhile to find a photo to submit and do a little post-production.
*Went back to the Dirt Road Photo Contest and it indicated I had to upgrade to enter.

This really stinks. It appears that once I open a contest to see what the guidelines are, the next time I go to that contest I am required to upgrade. Seriously?

I am set to Amateur. Is there something else I should be doing with my settings? If not, it appears that ViewBug has a click-and-bait philosophy.

Hello Kathleen,

Thank you for your message.

We apologize for any confusion. The Dirt Road Photo Contest is free for Pro members only and if you are a Premium member and received a free Pro contest submission from one of our promotions, the system will only let you submit 1 photo to a Pro contest. Please note that extra contest submissions are one time use only for all members (Free, Premium, or Pro). If you change your mind and try to remove/edit your photo, the system will not let you submit another photo into a Pro contest.

To see contest rules/details; please go to the contest's page (http://www.viewbug.com/contests/the-dirt-road-photo-contest), click on 'Rules' on the right side (under the contest banner) or scroll all the way down, and locate "Here's How It Works" section. You will see Entry fee will say "Free for Pro members".

To maintain an archive of the communication and for better assistance; please always contact our member support team at members@viewbug.com for any questions or concerns.

Have a nice day!
