When I click on a hotel that has the red % off in the top right it takes me to the site but the discount is not available - why?

Thank you for this question and we would be happy to help.

All prices on trivago are updated every day according to information provided by the booking sites. If you found a price difference between our site and the booking site, it is likely we had not yet received the update at the time you checked it. As a hotel search and not a booking site, trivago does not set prices for hotels, nor take part in any of the booking process.

Another possible reason for the price discrepancy is that trivago's American and Canadian platforms show prices per room per night before taxes and fees are included. We have run several tests, and this proves to be the most recognized and common way for both retail and online products to be displayed within North America. Therefore, we try to remain as localized as possible for our different users.

The majority of our European platforms display prices already including taxes and fees, as this is the norm in these countries.
