I had a really bad experience with a "plumber" I contacted through Thumbtack.com He never came to look at the job. I told him it's a short hot water heater under a kitchen counter. He said send me pics, I sent photos of the heater in there and a photo of the counter. Next text, he said I know which one to get. When he showed up with the tank he looked at the job and said he would need a helper, so we settled on Sunday. Fifteen minutes before he was to be here on Sunday.he texted me he was in an accident and his truck was towed. That thursday he texted he would be at my home Sunday at 9am. I texted back to remind him he needed a helper. So 15 min prior to the 9am he set up a text, his helper didn't show. Going to get my regular guy will text "shortly" with info. By 3:30 in the afternoon I texted him to forget about it, I would get someone else to do the job. I texted him the tank he brought is $358 at Home Depot, plus I paid for the fittings. Send me the fittings, and all the paperwork for the tank. I need a warranty and receipt, plus the money difference. When the new plumber came he showed me the tank was the wrong tank. It would not fit with the hot cold taps on top.....job needed side taps. I need info on this plumber that I used from your site. His name is Jim Pearson. He claims to be a MA licensed plumber, but I have my doubts. So I was stuck with a tank that doesn't work for me and he got $500 in cash.
