Hi Chuck. Negative comments and reviews aren't categorically removed. However, we do remove content that is untruthful or doesn't follow our clearly posted guidelines for fairness and decency. For instance, profanity, falsities, personal attacks, etc are not allowed. A: Hi Chuck. Swappa is a human-powered site and real humans do all of our moderation and support. If you email our support at help@swappa.com you typically receive a reply, from a real human, within minutes. So your question of why you can't "speak" to a human must be referring to the fact that we don't publish a customer support phone number. That's because it's inefficient and not a good way to do customer support for a website like ours. (Call into eBay support and see it's helpful. Hint, it's not.) Hi Juliana. If you do not receive what is advertised then you are entitled to a refund. That is Swappa's standard return policy. Sellers may specify a more specific return policy for their listing, but it's based on the buyer receiving what was promised. We also use PayPal for payments because they provide excellent buyer protections in case there is a disagreement or issue. Thanks for using Swappa!
Hi Linda. We review every device listed for sale on Swappa to ensure it's not blacklisted or likely to have problems down the road. In the rare event there is a problem down the road you can buy confidently knowing Swappa uses PayPal for payments. So as a buyer you are covered by their extensive purchase protections for up to 180 days: https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/paypal-safety-and-security So if a device were reported stolen 90 days after the sale you would be entitled to a full refund according to Swappa policies and PayPal's protections. Hi Varoujan. The shipping costs for a cell phone can vary depending on a few factors, but often the cost is around $10. Swappa policies require sold devices be shipped with tracking and proper insurance, so the cost can vary if the device is more valuable as insurance may cost a few dollars more. USPS is usually the most affordable, but even for quicker UPS and an expensive phone the cost is typically less than $15. Thanks for using Swappa.
Hi Karen, Swappa is unlike other marketplaces in that we have strict listing guidelines (e.g. No junk devices), require verification photos to prove device ownership, require device serial numbers so we can run checks, and a whole bunch of other measures in place to try to ensure you get what you pay for. It adds up to just a little more work for ours sellers, but a lot safer experience for our buyers. We also have highly trained, yet remarkably friendly, staff to review and approve every listing that goes up for sale on the site.
