Hi Tony - Thank you for your interest in a Peragon truck bed cover! Our cover is designed to be fully open or fully closed, we do not have partially open positions as a feature. There is technically a way to have just two or four panels partially covering the bed, but it is not convenient to do so we do not promote it as an official feature. Hello Jon! Our panels are made from solid 5052-H32 tempered aluminum no vinyl, plastic or foam. The aluminum thickness is a robust 14 gauge, which is 1/16 thick and quite dent resistant. Were often asked how the aluminum panels handle hail. Your Peragon bed cover will not be damaged by hail that will damage the sheet metal on your truck. Hail large enough to dent your Peragon bed cover will cause heavy damage to the rest of your truck making your bed cover the least of your concerns at that point! A great feature of the Peragon design is each panel can be replaced by itself. So, if you drop a concrete block on a panel, your wallet doesnt get crushed at the same time!

It is engineered to support up to 300 pounds of evenly distributed weight like snow. When driving, there shouldn't be any weight on the cover. Our solid aluminum design offers robust protection for your cargo. However, it is not designed to walk on or to haul cargo on. Think of our cover just like you would the hood of your truck. The hood is rigid and strong, but you wouldn't walk on it.
