Good question, because it is not followed at all. Gordon has personally stated that their guidelines are to be interpreted as rules, however, they are not followed with any consistency at all. They do what they want to based on which action will be the least offensive to the least amount of people. Despite all of their empty words, this is a business with only one thing on their mind of which is to obtain the highest amount of man hours viewed on their site for higher advertising dollars. Their monetizing of this site has been severely unsuccessful to date. They are in financial trouble IMO.
