Anyway, I think no software can't replace your own research.
MyHeritage's Family Tree Builder is a great tool and it provides a lot of good features. But, all the features are not always suitable your needs. In some cases you are limited with knowledge of language, available information for some world regions etc. – it's a hard work.

Start your family tree with you, your parents, your family, your spouse, his family. You try birth records, military and Census records. It helps if you know the country of origin of grandparents etc. You may get lucky with "smart matches" where you can get info from other people. It takes time and patience.
Hello Laramie You start with you and add everyone’s names you know. Ask ALL living relatives (even distant ones) for information. I am in Australia now and I found emails & phone numbers for 2nd & 3 rd Cousins in Oregon. I contacted all of them. It can be a challenge. I am helping a friend who was adopted in Australia (and there is not very much info here to find like there is in the US, Canada, England & Europe).

Start searching at MyHeritage site, or FamilySearch site. Search your surname and the Country from your ancestors came. In my case, for example, I search Breyer, from Germany, specially the little city Biebern, or State RheinlandPfalz. Is more easy if you know city or region, because some surnames are common and you will find thousands...
