Yes... I am a member in at least 25-30 groups... now I tried to respond to several emails sent Aug. 4th, 2015, from different group invites, each one stating that I need to be a member first! What the? States that I am a member of 0 groups! PLEASE find out what happened and reverse this immediately! elisebertrand@comcast.net

Unfortunately you would have to talk to Meetup, this is simply a review site. That is strange though, unless the organizer decided to remove you for whatever reason but that's highly unlikely.
