I would avoid this company like the plague. They didn't send the goods. They didn't respond to emails. Terrible

I am not able to call during the hours LS offers IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM. I have always been able to communicate via email to LS. They apparently don't trust their "support staff" to handle emailed questions.
This will make me discontinue my online shopping habit with a MUCH LESS quality company such as Groupon. Groupon DOES stand by their products and services, always have.
I would recommend this company for its"deals" but issues come up left and right. I've tried for almost THREE YEARS to get a refund on a voucher I purchased with a price tag of $100. No response after 9 emails and endless messages left on their "voicemail", which must not exist.
I do not recommend this site to anyone I know. They have no idea how far my reach is. I've given them too many opportunities to remedy the situation, to zero response.
Kiss your cash goodbye if you have ANY issue with a deal (and do not have the abi, it's to call during their select hours of customer "service". Ridic!
Save your money and ship at Groupon, if you want a guarantee on all.
Hope this saves someone from the grief (and time) I've spent trying to get my money back.
Last tip: use a credit card! A debit card won't provide the protection you may need. Tip to the wise.

I rang LS when I placed an order for a large size shampoo, but the small size came up in the order confirmation. I had no problem getting a refund and the person I dealt with was very pleasant and helpful.

I TOO believe Living Social is a RIPOFF. I bought a one night reservation at a B&B in North GA. I've tried twice to make a reservation on their web site, with NO response. I tried contacting LS Customer Service department... excuse me, the NO CUSTOMER SERVICE department and haven't received a reply. DON'T DO IT... DON'T BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!

Hi Sara, I confirm I received a refund from living social and I would like to appreciate your help. I strong believe it would have been impossible without your help. As my feedback, according to other posts listed on this site, many people seem not have received an instruction or purchase confirmation with coupon code like me. This process should be automatically done electronically and if your system is failing to do so, you should look at it to improve so this type of bug never happens. Secondly, inform the customer what is including and not, what's the condition and what's the additional payment to merchants, all clear information, that I believe that you are responsible to obtain from the merchant as long as you are sort of acting a dealer. For the customer, discrepancy and trouble with the merchant when using coupon will be a big stress. I expect social living will do a full customer care until the deal is actually received by the customer. An anonymous message from social living cutomer care was very unprofessional, careless and unfriendly. Social living should improve a cutomer care by having a representative with a name and e-mail address as you did here. These are my feedback to you.

This company is trying to raise funds and expand
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704164204576203021085137778.html
I don't know that if I were an investor, that I would ever fund this company. My experience has been disappointing, and I feel they operate dishonestly. I don't think I would ever again buy a deal from them, or recommend that anyone would.

First, I purchased a deal for movie tickets that would become free if three of my friends also purchased it. My friends did, and I was told I would receive the deal for free, only to find a charge for this on my credit card statement. I contacted them about this over a week ago. I still have that charge on my statement.

Second, and before I knew I would be fraudulently charged for the movie tickets, I purchased a deal for a hotel stay in Yosemite. I knew that the fine print said that the deal was only valid during the off-season at Yosemite, which I was fine with. I called the hotel to make a reservation immediately after I bought the deal, and several more times in the following days, leaving messages specifying what days I wanted to book. I also e-mailed the hotel about this. No word back in over a week. Now the hotel says that they are all booked, and that the earliest weekend reservation is in October, at a room with twin sized beds. This is ridiculous. I e-mailed Livingsocial about this, and have yet to hear back.

Don't buy. Don't invest.

I just received a LivingSocial Escapes deal for Orlando, 3 nights at one hotel, 2 at another on Daytona Beach. Sounded like a good deal but didn't want to jump without talking to someone. I called the number. EPIC FAIL on customer service. Lady named Janet was probably the rudest person I've ever spoken to - especially someone trying to sell me something. Basically told me to buy it first then she'd answer my questions. After that poor experience I found this website (Thank God!) We are a family w/3 small kiddos and live on a tight budget. I can't imagine what our one and only vacation "might" have been had I bought. I'm curious if anyone on here has purchased any of the escape deals, and if so, what was your experience? I'm getting ready to post on facebook, to my 600+ friends - I suggest everyone on here do the same. If you want to get the word out, that's the way to do it.

I have been trying to advertise my business on LS. I am in St. Louis, MO. I was told my business does not meet the demographics for LS. I have seen in other cities that there are the same types of business advertising that I have. The sales rep that I have spoken with in St. Louis has been very rude. I have sent emails trying to speak to someone in management and nobody has gotten back to me. I would like to be treated equally like any other business that advertises on LS. Ken in St. Louis

Hi Sara, Can you help me get a refund for a Laser White Express, Fort Worth purchase made a month ago? The company is a scheduling sham... two appointments, two cancellations, all via email, all at 11 pm the night before the appointment. I'm not going to continue to mess around with this. Disappointing... really, really disappointing. Thanks!

I am in Australia and also have sent a comment to LS regarding an amount on my credit card statement from LS that i did not purchase and does not appear on my account, followed by a $3000 amount to an unknown company charged in $USA. I have now had to cancel my credit card but want to know how the amount from LS was accessed, obviously not by me apart from the fact that i didn't make the purchase, it does not appear as having been made in 'my account' even as a gift. I have only just started using them but will not ever again, BEWARE who has access to your credit infromation, i also found out later that they STORE it... i am waiting to hear back but it seems a huge coincidence that these amounts are both in $USA and made within a day of each other. NB i have not taken money out of an ATM or made other overseas purchases with this card. BEWARE until the matter is investigated and resolved i am lialble for it and need to pay it... A very expensive lesson on checking the security of who you give your credit card details to...

Well Sara, I checked my credit card and I did not get the refund you promised. I sent you the info and you ripped me off good. Guess I'll be taking this up with American Express and their complaint department. What a rip oof, you sell me a hotel room at a rate the hotel does not make available, then you promise me a refund and I get squt. You should be ashamed.

I've bought many deals from living social and never had any problems - until I tried to "gift" one of my purchased deals to a friend. The purchase went through, my credit card charged, and I received an email stating my friend would receive the voucher by email. My friend never received the voucher, and even checked through spam folders just in case. And I can't resend it to him because I never had it, nor can I access it from my account to print it up to physically hand him the voucher.

So not only have I lost my money, but I am incredibly embarrassed by my failed gift.

I've submitted 3 help requests through their website over the course of 4 weeks, and not even an acknowledgement that the request was recieved. I've called the customer service telephone number daily for same number of weeks, and they aren't even allowing calls to remain on the line to hold for the next available consumer advocate because they are "experiencing very high call volume" and then they disconnect you.

It seems like livingsocial consumer advocates are active here, so I'm hoping I can get one of them to assist me instead of my daily phone calling and emailing to no end except wasting my time. I like livingsocial, and have had great deals in the past. But if this is the type of customer service I can expect if I do have an issue, then I will be highly hesitant to buy another deal.

I bought a maid service ($30) voucher back in November then in June I went to use it. Called the company to use it and they said "we are booked up for the year, give us your name/number and when an opening comes up we will call you".

I called Living Social back and told them this (my vocher expires in November)... and they said they would refund my money. I said I don't want the money I want the service. They said they would look into why the company would sell more vochers than they could handle and refunded my money (whatever).

TODAY, the SAME deal is selling for DOUBLE the price and I was like WTF they couldn't fulfill my voucher for $30 and now they are selling them for $60!

I called Living Social and they were like "too bad so sad" we refunded your money. I even got the direct number to apparently the head person who was like too bad so sad.

I cannot believe the freaking company wouldn't accept my $30 because they were "full" and now they are selling the EXACT same thing for double the money. Obviously they have people available and just didn't want to do mine because they sold it so cheap.

Obviously this company didn't want to send out the maids for people who purchased the $30 coupon and are now selling them for double the price! And Living Social Customer Serivce is useless and won't do anything at all and have a too bad, so sad attitude. They not only had my money from November to June, but I didn't get the services I purchased and now they are selling hte exact same thing which I could not get for Double!

Finally, after 3-month waiting, the refund had arrived. I cannot say I'm disappointed about the result as the case was closed before Christmas so it didn't pass my bottom line... However I strongly suggest you guys improve your software.

Hi,

I bought a deal for Art Lessons in London. The purchase went well but when I tried to arrange the actuall lessons and called the mobile number stated on the voucher, no one picked up for almost two months! Finally I reached someone who told me they are doing the planning for the new year and I will receive a call in a few weeks. No one ever called. I tried again end of Jan but the number die no longer exist. Hence I sent an email to social living which was promply replied to. They gave me a land line number which was never answered and after a few weeks also did no longer exist! Hence, I sent another email to social living which was not replied to at all. Then another on to chase but since the end of Ja no more reply from social living. I am very disappointed about their customer service. What would be the best next step?

I am in tears. I've been a long time customer. I purchased a coupon for a photobooth to use at my wedding. When I called to book my reservation, the merchant said she was completely booked and to call LS to ask for a refund. When I called and emailed, LS said they could do nothing because it had been past their 5 day time limit for refunds. They wouldn't even try to resolve the issue or even offer a partial refund or deal bucks. I'm out of $425 and no photobooth for my wedding. Sara, or Megan, or whomever is a consumer advocate for LS, can someone please help me out?

I bought a restaurant voucher through LS which the restaurant refused to honour. LS advised us that they did not refund money but would credit the full amount for future use and emailed us to the fact they would not use our credit card details and instead deduct the amount from my credit with them (Deal Bucks)... you've guessed it, when I bought a further restaurant deal they debited my credit card. I have now emailed them 3 times and they do not reply either by email or phone so where do I go from here? I have had good relationships with similar types of social media sites but this company is ignorant, dishonest and not to be trusted. "BUYER BEWARE" do not deal with Livingsocial... any idea's where I can go from here... please advise. Bob Barton. Australia

We bought a "deal" for electric boat rental in Chicago. Tried to make a reservation 15 times and every time we were told there was no availability. Now the deal has expired and the boat rental placl or Living Social will do anything about it. I would say it's a scam. All the comments on how retailers loose money on deals, my guess is they keep telling them no availability until it expires but offer them full price (minus the LS deal). That way they make more $. My advice is to stay as far away from LS as possible.

I bought a living social voucher for the Foam Factory 3hr car detailing package. When we dropped off the car we were informed that the car was too dirty to be detailed by them with just the voucher and that it would cost us an additional $120 for the service or we could contact living social and get a refund. I asked if they could just give me the regular 3hr cleaning and not to worry about the "extremely dirty console" and they refused... so far its has been 2weeks with no resolution, other than a deal bucks refund. I don't want to use this company again for anything! Just want my money back! There isn't any trust with me and this company just by what I have found out between emails with Living Social and online reviews
