so as long as i cancel before the 14th day i only end up paying 2.95 and i can print and save my resumes

That is correct. The $2.95 is the 14-day trial price where you can build your resume, print it, download the document, etc. You will be charged for the recurring subscription if you do not cancel before the trial is over.
