I went by the MEASUREMENTS only not the size.
In the hips i was a size 16 and up the top i was a 14 to their measurments. So i went for a size 16 which is nearly 2 sizes bigger then my true size. I will have to havr the top altered as its a bit to big but glad i went up and not went by size.

I ordered a size up and the dress was way too big in the bust (and I'm pretty busty) but pretty tight in the waist. I could not wear it for the event it was ordered for, but their return policy is terrible so I am out the money. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

I guess it would depend on the material and manufactor. The dress I ordered didn't fit. I ordered a size 12, and it was about a US 5/6 or 7.

The dress I got was very true to size... I ordered it big and ended up having to get it altered I would say it's worth getting them to customize it take your measurements I read reviews that they do real good with it... My dress was beautiful

I agree with what everyone else is saying: I would take your measurements and order a size bigger. It's easier sizing the dress down then the hassle of having to return a dress if it doesn't fit.

Have someone take your measurements and go a tiny bit bigger... if you have to have it altered and take it to a cleaner/seamstress. JJ's house pays the alteration costs. Better to have a little extra fabric to work with

Have your measurements taken by a professional, and make sure they take the hollow to floor, that is the measurement from your collar bone to floor. The dresses are all custom made I was very lucky that my dress was a perfect fit including the length. I agree with the previous answer look at their size chart also. You can also chat on line with one of their reps. They are all very nice and very helpful.

Make sure you measure yourself Wanda according to JJ'shouse measuring chart and then look at their size chart to find what size would fit you best. It is best that if you are not sure because you may be a 16 in the hip but a 20 in the bust, to customize your order to fit your body perfectly! It is only $27.99 Canadian more and well worth it! But look at their size chart after you have taken your measurements according to their charts. You won't be disappointed.
