Here’s what consumers have asked with answers from iHerb staff and previous consumers.
Thank you for your question. IHerb sells the genuine products directly from the manufacturer.
Global Mail has the possibility to also get assessed customs fees. However, because it uses postal clearance instead of express clearance like DHL International Shipping it is less likely to get assessed duties and taxes as well as additional charges. As well as customs Duty, customs can apply a VAT (Value added Tax). This basically means that customs can change the value of what you ordered to what they think it is worth and not what you paid for it. Customs may also tax you on the cost of shipping and include that in the value calculations. There are a lot of ways in which customs can increase the tax be significantly higher than what you paid for the items.
Thank you for your inquiry. DHL does not add customs charges to any package. It is actually the country's customs department that charges these extra fees. Each country has different rules and regulations in regards to their additional fees. If you let me know what country you would be having your package delivered to I can give you a better idea of what to expect.
Dear Tim, When shipping to Canada iHerb offers different shipping methods. The one you chose uses the Postal Service for customs clearance and delivery. Because of that reason you are less likely to get assessed customs fees and since your order was not assessed customs fees you also did not have to pay broker fees as well.
Dear Romita, Thank you for asking your question. The reason why we are asking for that much information is due to customs requirements for clearance of your package. Each country has different requirements for products to be imported. Please feel free to contact our customer service directly if you would like a more detailed break down of the information that is required for your country.
