Question:

Are customers able to request and receive "sauces and toppings on the side for any or all meals? thanks. tracylbuice@gmail.com

Answer:

Hi Tracy! Currently, that is not an option with our meals, I'm afraid. They arrive as-is, aside from a few that can be ordered with or without cheese. Otherwise they aren't customizable. Have a wonderful day!

Question:

Will the meals that have been delivered be kept in the fridge or the freezer ??

Answer:

Since we cook the meals and ship them without using chemical/artificial preservatives, they do have a shorter refrigerated shelf life than say, commercial frozen dinners, etc. Just like if you were to cook food at home and store in your refrigerator! Typically the "use by" date on the meals is about 4-5 days from the ship date. You can certainly freeze them to make them last far longer, you'll just want to add at least 1 minute to the heating time if heating from frozen.

Question:

Salt content is extremely high. i have high blood pressure and am wondering why so much sodium is being used.

Answer:

We do add a bit of sea salt to taste, but otherwise, the sodium is from what is naturally occurring in the ingredients. Because we do not alter it, we've received feedback that the sodium seems higher than normal. It's largely from seasonings and marinades that we use. We recently lowered sodium levels in general, and plan to start introducing some specifically low-sodium meals in the future.

Question:

How do you ship? fedex would deliver to my p.o.box; usps doesn't "recognize" my street address-- small town. should i enter both addresses?

Answer:

We currently deliver via FedEx or OnTrac. Our boxes can't be delivered to a P. O. box, so it would have to be a street address.:-)

Before i sign up...you are located in new york, we are in oregon how in the heck do you do this and the food keeps fresh and tasty? also, we eat only grass fed beef, what kind of quality is your meat sources? thank you, m

Answer:

Hello! Our corporate offices are indeed in NYC, but our kitchen is actually in Phoenix.:-) Our packaging is tested to be safe for 2 days of transit time - the meals are sent out in insulated boxes with non-toxic gel ice packs. They are tested to be safe for 2 days transit time and then also safe to sit outside for up to 12 hours upon delivery. The delivery window we are given by the carriers is between 9am and 9pm.:-) Our beef is not grass-fed currently. We take care to use quality ingredients - local whenever possible - that are free from hormones, and we do not use chemical preservatives in our meals.
