on 11/2/15I have also ordered many items from Etsy sellers and only had one major problem. I ended up taking my problem to the BBB (Better Business Bureau), and it was resolved in days. Other than that I have never been disappointed. I, like many here, use Paypal.
Hi... like others replying... I too have ordered many times from Etsy sellers. I make sure to have a conversation via text & ask all questions ( pertaining to sizes etc)... only once did the seller not respond. I have had good luck thus far. I would suggest opening a PAYPAL account to pay for items, that's a bit " safer " than just submitting charge card numbers. Hope this helps... good luck...=)
It's like any on-line ordering that the product is not a brand name. The chances you take have to do with not being able to see the quality of the workmanship or the condition of the product if it's pre-owned. Etsy has some unique products, and most of the time I get what I've asked for, after having had a good on-line conversation with the seller. This particular instance, the seller sent a picture in the middle of creating my table, at which time I had some concerns. He didn't send another before he sent it out to me.
Yes it is. Although each shop is owned individually checkout process is very secure through direct pay or PayPal.
I've ordered about 20 things and haven't had any problems. Like the others have said, it's all individual sellers so it will depend. Some things aren't exactly how I pictured them to be (they might be bigger or smaller, or a slightly different colour than I imagined) but that goes along with all online shopping. Reading the descriptions thoroughly for materials, dimensions, condition, etc. is a good thing to do and ask any questions about things you are uncertain of. It's good to note though that some items are made specifically for you - they are not ready when you order them. The listings will often say "ready to ship" or "made to order" so it can give you some guidance on how long it will take to be ready. Etsy might not be the best idea if you need an item in a hurry but it's worth it for getting something unique.
I can only tell you of my personal experience. I have ordered many items through ETSY and had only one problem. You are working with separate vendors so if there are any problems it is usually with the vendor. I had difficulty with one and ETSY stepped in and it was resolved.
Depending on seller. Always check sellers review.
