In California and Maryland, the renewal period begins 60 days before the tags expire, so it would depend when in August your tags expire and when in May you place your order. In Florida, the renewal period is 90 days before the tags expire so you would likely be able to renew anytime in May. Hope that helps and looking forward to assisting you with your tag renewal.
