Hi Charlotte. We operate on the "pay to participate/bid model" so it's required that you purchase bids in advance. This loads up your account balance. When you win an item on DealDash, you also have to take into account the bids that you have used to get the item.

In that sense, we always recommend our users to keep to a budget and never place more bids than what they're willing to pay.
