Question:

I want to purchase a flat bar road bike and confused with several choices u offer. my goal is speed and more speed. i like motobecane but again want speed. what flat bar bike is built for speed? i would like to order as soon as possible. thank you

Answer:

Flat bar road bikes are built first for comfort and second for speed. If you want speed and more speed get a drop bar road bike that is aero. If you want speed and comfort and upright position, get a flat bar road bike with a lightweight build. Look for carbon forks and carbon frame like the Cafe Century series. If those are not in the budget, look for aluminum with carbon forks without disc brakes :) Hope this helps? Send an email to bd4salesteam@aol.com with links to the bikes you are considering and they can help you narrow it down. Don't wait too long, the #1 complaint we get is our bikes sell out fast:) Joe

Question:

I need your assistance as i cannot find the bike weight or material of the frame. does it exist?

Answer:

Hi - the material of the frame is in the spec chart of each bike. Exact weights are not published since due to tolerance stacking of all the dozens of parts this can vary. Weight also varies according to size of bike. Please email bd4salesteam@aol.com with the link to the bike and they can help you asap :) thanks for your interest in Bikesdirect.com we save smart cyclists like you hundreds and thousands of dollars every day on new bikes.

Question:

Looking very seriously at your motobecane fantom 27.5 plus x7 bicycle. is it true it will not be shipped until june 2016 and you will have billed my credit card on the day it is ordered (soon i hope)? thanks. steven parker

Answer:

Hi - those are great bikes. Credit cards are billed at the time you order. That particular bike is on special prepay sale and discounted deeply. In order to hold / reserve one, the full amount is billed. These are estimated to ship around the dates shown on the order page. Could vary a few days earlier or later. If you change your mind BEFORE the bike ships, one may contact bikesdirectbikes@aol.com to change or modify or cancel their order without penalty. :) Happy Riding :)

Question:

I am new to bike riding. i have participated in 3 organized bike rides in the last month (short rides of 10-12 mile routes). i have a cruiser, which i adore. i love the fit, the comfort of the upright position, the extension of the leg when the pedal is fully extended, etc... the only problem is that it is a heavy bike. i am seeking a lighter weight bike, with the comfort of the cruiser to be able to graduate to the 20 mile rides. i am 4 ft 11 inces tall and 54 yrs old. i cannot ride with the racing handle bars. any suggestions?

Answer:

Depends on your budget - we do have Aluminum Cruiser bikes with multiple gears that would be better for longer rides and lighter. Also look at the flat bar road bikes. Upright position and lightweight too :) http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/hybrid_bikes.htm

Question:

I need help choosing a bike. i want to start cycling and want a bike that's gonna ride nice and fast around town but also make it 150 mile trips! what type of bike would be best?

Answer:

Hi - this depends upon your budget. Nearly any road bike can be nice and fast and good for long distances. Also depends if you want to carry any supplies with you then look for rear rack mounts. Please email bd4salesteam@aol.com - they will be happy to help you :)

Question:

Answer:

Thanks for your question - that is not a grease port. These have sealed cartridge bottom brackets. Very little maintenance needed. All geared bicycles have basically the same maintenance.
