I was curious about an article i read: "some popular websites dr. lambert & the qvvh do not recommend buying heartworm prevention are: 1800petmeds.com drsfostersmith.com sites where third parties try sell heartworm, like amazon or ebay. alibaba.com". wonder why they say that?

Unlike these other sites, 1-800-PetMeds is a duly licensed pharmacy and has earned Veterinary-Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites (Vet-VIPPS) accreditation through the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy®. We successfully completed the rigorous accreditation process by demonstrating the professional operations of our pharmacy. Thus we should not be included in the list that includes the other sites that are not pharmacies. When we became aware of what we presume is the same article we did write to Dr. Lambert explaining all this and asking that he remove the references to our pharmacy from the article and to discontinue making any incorrect statements about 1-800-PetMeds. While we cannot know for certain why any veterinarian would make such allegations against our pharmacy we did note that one of the points in the article we were writing to him about indicated that his veterinary hospital is now offering medications online. ~ Abby, PetMeds Pro
