  • U-Haul

8/9/23

I needed to rent a moving truck for a few days at the end of July, and like a fool, I decided to go with U-Haul, thinking they had good prices...
Boy did I learn.
First off, I could not even get the 8' Pickup that I wanted for $19.95 per day. Instead, the only thing available was the 16' moving van for $29.95 a day. Which, by the way, is very tough to drive as it is basically just a HUGE Rolling Blindspot.
Secondly, the vehicle was not remotely maintained or taken care of in any fashion and was a Massive rust bucket with so many defects, I am shocked it could pass inspection at all. The Gas Gauge did not work and stayed on empty the whole time, along with the Low Fuel Light staying on the whole time as well. The inside Cab Light could not be turned off, creating a need to jump the truck every time you start it. The Driver-side Door was broken and had to be held closed while you drove, or it would swing open. The Suspension was HORRIBLE, making it feel like you were always driving over gravel or 4-wheeling. Also, the Brakes made an almost painful screeching noise when applied. I mean an absolutely unroadworthy vehicle.
Thirdly, their garbage phone app. Could not connect to my phone at all, forcing me to come in to pick up the vehicle the next morning when they open at 7 am. Don't even think about trying to call them for 'Customer Support' because They Know They Are A Scam, and you can ONLY speak with a pre-recorded robot.
Then it turns out they require a Deposit for gasoline, based on your estimation of how many miles you will be using the rust pile for. I said I might need it for 60 miles at the most, and the necessary Deposit was $140.
Because it was such a poorly maintained vehicle, I was also forced to spend an additional $79 for the insurance. All of this on top of the unfortunate 'Rental Tax', made for an overpriced venture, in a substandard vehicle, I returned the truck, they took their money from my card and I thought it was behind me until I got a text tonight saying 'We apologize but here are still remaining charges associated with your U-Haul Rental'.
YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT, they want MORE money from me now...
Apparently. Once these Ghetto Scam Artists have you on their 'Victim List', there is no escape. Do yourselves a favor, if you need to move, use Penske, Budget, or Home Depot. They may have slightly higher pricing, but they also take care of their vehicle, and Once you pay them, you are Finished!

Tip for consumers:
U-Haul may seem to be the most cost-effective alternative to moving equipment, but they are lazy and worthless when it comes to taking care of their stuff, as well as having a literal TON of sneaky hidden charges!!

  • Android Central

I logged into Android Central to view a post, and got his ridiculous error -
ANDROID FORUMS MESSAGE

You have been banned for the following reason:
Multiple Usernames
Date the ban will be lifted: Never

This is preposterous as I have only ever logged into that forum using my Google account, which has had the same username for years...
Be careful if you try to use this site to get help with your android device, they will ban your account for nothing, just so they do not have to work for a living.
I would suggest that you instead try - https://androidforums.com/ - as they seem to be administrated by human beings who are really interested in creating a better forum experience for everyone, and not just for themselves.
If you have an Android device, and need to ask questions, you can either contact the manufacturer, your carrier, or GO SOMEWHERE else to ask questions, because androidcentral.com is piece of garbage site that refuses to help anybody with anything, and will ban you for nothing the first time you try to get answers!

Tip for consumers:
STAY AWAY, they are criminally useless!!

  • Fixya

7/17/21

I made the mistake of asking a question on fixya.com, then got an Email saying there was an answer, but when I tried to click the link, it took me to the attached screenshot error page...
So, then I tried just going to the site, and clicking on 'Sign In', but that just takes you to a page with a picture of 2 men messing with bicycles. I have a screenshot of that as well, but could not post it because it is over 5mb in size, which is ridiculous for a screenshot.
What is the point of a website to ask questions, if you cannot get back to it to check answers provided?
FIND ANOTHER WEBSITE IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION, because fixya.com is broken somehow!

Tip for consumers:
Stay away, they have not got a functioning website!!

  • snagajob.com

6/30/21

I recently have left my job with the city of Virginia Beach, and started attempting to use snagajob.com to seek new employment opportunities, but the website has made so may changes from what I remember that is very difficult to navigate now...
They have done what many many websites have done, and added so many bells and whistles to their service that you almost have to be a Computer Scientist to use the site anymore. Worse, when you try to contact them about this, they of course direct you to read their FAQ page, which is generally unhelpful on a grand scale. Also, after contacting them 3 times, the contact form no longer will send, so you get 3 strikes and you are out!

Tip for consumers:
Use an alternative job site, as this one has been broken by continuous unnecessary upgrades....

It is a online job search service that is terribly designed, ad has become so complex tat it is difficult to navigate....

  • Debate

2/2/21

I tried to participate in a poll on debate.org, but it would not post my comment / vote unless I signed in, except I cannot sign in because they never sent the verification Email to me...
I am truthfully sick to death of so many websites online seeming to have been coded by ignorant chimps, who couldn't create a functional website if their lives depended on it.
Just one error after another when trying to log into this pathetic excuse for a website, and then when you do FINALLY get logged in, you find out that the website is too stupid to send an Email, so you cannot do or post anything without verification that cannot be completed!

Tip for consumers:
Skip this site, it is trash, and the website is technically broken!!

  • Instacart

11/16/19

I tried to order some items from instacart.com, that were shown on their website, and paid my money for the delivery of said items, but then they contacted me the next day as =king me if I would like to substitute something different for these items because they did not have stock...
I responded that no I want what I paid for, and they cancelled the order, sending me an Email claiming they will return my money in 10 business days.
This is unacceptable, that they advertise items they do not even have in stock, and take your money, but then tell you that you HAVE to take something different or lose your money for almost 2 weeks.
When I first placed the order I saw this option, but chose to not have a substitute item instead, which did not stop them from taking my money for something they could not provide, and then calling em up the next morning to ask me to pick something different.
All I am saying is that if they do not have something in stock, they should show that before you pat for it, but I guess that would be too much like good customer service.
I am now left concerned because these obviously lazy, incompetent people now have my banking information, and they are a scam website.
STAY AWAY from instacart.com / Kroger!

  • Avvo

3/10/19

I tried to ask a question on the Avvo Free Legal Advice site, but instead of getting an answer, I was instead informed that an answer would be coming to my Email...
I did get a couple of Emails from Avvo, but none of them were an answer to my specific question, and instead were links to articles that were similar, but no the same, along with contact numbers for local attorneys.
An answer to my question was never provided, and I did not seek to retain an attorney, just to ask a question, as is advertised by the website.
DOD NOT BE FOOLED by this site, there is no free advice provided at all, just links to other, similar cases. Don't go to Avvo.com, unless you are trying to hire a lawyer, because the 'free question' is just a hoax to trick you!

Tip for consumers:
They do not provide free legal advice, that is a lie to trick you into signing on with them.

  • Trustpilot

5/8/17

I was contacted by an online company that I made a purchase from, who directed me to Trustpilot to make a review...
I did so, and they contacted me back later by Email asking me to remove the review because it was not a solid 5 stars. I thought this was extremely presumptuous, but I decided to go ahead, and remove it, and went to Trustpilot's Login page, but they would not let me in, claiming my credentials were invalid. So, I clicked the option to sign in using my Google account, but it turns out that this is also not allowed. The ONLY way that I could sign in was to create a new account with Trustpilot, but that would not allow me to change previous reviews I posted, so this was not truly an option.
This is ignorant because I KNOW I signed in before just fine to post the review to begin with, but now all of a sudden I am not a valid user?
Also, like most websites that are shady, they have almost no possible means to contact them for support, a HUGE RED FLAG!

Tip for consumers:
Stay away from any site that does not have a contact method besides a web form, or an Email address!!

  • PissedConsumer

4/14/17

Pissed Consumer is a useful site for posting your grievances concerning companies that you have had dealings with, but they keep asking for information that is not provided by this company. I recently tried to post a review of a terrible company that hides behind a PO Box to avoid having to deal with it's victims, and in order to post a review of this company, Pissed Consumer wants a ton of information about this company that is not there, like an Email address (not provided), a Google account link (not provided), a Youtube account (not provided), or an Instagram account (also not provided), in order to post your review.
This is one of the issues that I had complained about in my review, that this company provided almost no means to contact them except to send mail to a PO Box, or call their support number, which is almost always closed.
OF COURSE, the Emails you get from Pissed Consumer are ALWAYS *******@pissedconsumer.com, so there is no true way to ask them about this!

Tip for consumers:
Make sure that you know EVERYTHING about the company you wish to review, and if the information that Pissed Consumer asks for is not made available by that company then you cannot post a review unfortunately!!

Absolutely a piece of trash site with no technical savvy whatsoever...
You take the time to write out a review after logging in, and when you are done and try to click Submit you review, it does NOTHING at all?
I am confused by this, and it seems to be a trend that websites nowadays are designed by useless kindergarten drop-outs!

  • mail.com

3/31/17

I have been using Mail.com Free Email for a couple of years now, but lately, I have noticed that their website, which was always a haven for spam, has been getting more and more unreliable...
The entire time I have been here writing this review, their Logout Page has been trying to finish loading. This is endless loop that seems to own Mail.com now.
I am assuming this is a way to try and STRONG ARM you into purchasing their Premium paid service, and that they are purposely coding in bugs and glitches to their freemail accounts.
In any cases, STEER CLEAR, these people are ruthless. Now, let me see if the Logout Page has finished loading yet.
WOW big shock, it has not!

  • Houzz

3/29/17

I placed an online purchase for a Trampoline for the back yard, and did not get a confirmation Email for almost 4 hours...
Plus, the payment did not get deducted from my account until several hours later, so I bought another one instead. This order was placed correctly, but now I have purchased 2 Trampolines, and I only need a single one.
So, I TRIED to cancel the 1st order, but the site would not work right, and I ended up having to put in a ticket on the issue. They responded to the ticket the next day, and assured me that it would be taken care of, and the 1st Trampoline order would be cancelled.
Then I get an Email from Houzz telling me that it was too late, and the merchant had already shipped it, which meant that I would have to apply to return the item by shipping to get a refund. This is a LARGE package, and shipping it back will require me to use a freight service, which is horribly expensive. I do not appreciate the fact that I did not make my cancellation request quick enough because of their broken website, and now I have to pay some $40+ out of my pocket to ship this item back.
I am sickened that I made the mistake of ever getting tied up with Houzz.com now, and would suggest that anyone thinking of making a purchase, STEER WAY CLEER!
