Some of the best comedy on TV. The other night I watched the fat guy with glasses and chin hair and sidekick (Mandy?) scam their audience with some grossular garnet cabochons. Any garnet of this type of any quality will be faceted. These two actually had the audacity to tout these stones because of their inclusions, the very reason the stones were unworthy of faceting. They were actually insinuating that at $100+ these stones were a bargain when $10 a carat would be over priced.

Later they showed some faceted "mint" garnets that were virtually colorless. Again they were offered as bargains even though they would be practically valueless to any experienced collector. Ironically, had the faceted stones had the color of the dirty cabochons, they would have had some value.

The show ended with a number of very inferior zultanites being offered at huge markups. These stones were lifeless yet when they showed the color change characteristics they used an outstanding "sample" stone. Flogging would be too good for the owners and hosts of this shameful enterprise.
