I ordered a phone from this company on 17 November. They sent me a message to say it was out of stock and offered me an alternative or a refund to my wallet that I could use for other purchases. As I wanted this item quickly I would have preferred a full refund so that I could purchase elsewhere. I reluctantly accepted the alternative product on 18 November but to date this has not been sent. I have sent them a message to see where it is but they have just replied and referred me to the original ticket and ignored my question about where it is. This is a Christmas present and I am very unhappy about their slow or non existent service and especially their useless response to my question. The original phone that I ordered is still listed for sale - what is going on? I think the fact that they will not give a refund in circumstances like this is not acceptable. They keep your money and force you to make another order. Do not order from this Company are not happy with this business practice.
I will post an update if and when I finally get this matter resolved.

See Gearbest's response. They have obviously not read my complaint. It is nothing to do with 'product quality' - I HAVEN'T GOT THE PRODUCT!
You will notice that their response to this complaint and to others is just a 'Cut and paste' and has little, or nothing to do with the complaint. The also say to respond to the original ticket - I have responded 3 times?
I have now been told today that the item has been shipped, however it would appear from the description to be the original item which was supposed to be out of stock in the first place, and not the suggested alternative that I had agreed to. I will update if and when it arrives.

Update at 8 December

Got a message on 4 December to say it has been dispatched. However the tracking information suggests otherwise. It states that the item has been sitting in Singapore since 1 December at 16:03. Somebody is telling porkies! Either the email is incorrect or the tracking information is fake, I will let you decide.

Looking at all the recent reviews I despair. Most are 1 star (the minimum) and tell a tale of woe and despair. The others are 5 star and sing the praises of Gearbest. However you will notice that these are written in Chinglish, Again I will leave you to decide!

Unfortunately these few 5 star reviews tend to cancel out a number of 1 star reviews and make them sound much better than they are.

I would recommend that you should avoid this company at all costs and take any of the positive reviews with a very large pinch of salt.

UPDATE AT 11/01/16

I am pleased (and surprised) to report that after all the frustration the phone has eventually arrived. I really didn't think I would see it after all the false promises that Gearbest made. However after their appalling performance and useless customer support they have lost any further custom and I would not advise anyone to place an order unless they are prepared to wait for 2 months to receive it. A company that has to resort to placing so many false reviews is one to avoid.
