I think like most reviewers here, I started on this site because of the "hope" it offered with the kind old man with Ph. D. telling you how his technique works. True, it initially matched me with a few people... NONE of whom I had anything in common with. There were clingy ones, psychotic ones, and mean ones. I would have rather NOT been matched than paired with those that the "tried and true test" selected.
This site is no different from sex sites where you go to hook up with strangers. You give money to them... they provide you with horrible choices... then the cycle continues. I fell for their snake oil too, in hindsight... I should've realized it after being stood up numerous times. Maybe the "tried and true" methods of the old days still work... go out to places you like to go, and maybe you'll run into someone else. Otherwise, there are lowdown places like eHarmony to get your hopes up and dash them down all so they can turn a profit on loneliness. Shame on you eHarmony!
