Huusk Knife. My personal review.
My first test, which is one I do with any and all knives I purchase, is the paper test. Can it slice cleanly thru a sheet of paper. This did not. I tried several times using a sheet of printer paper (20 lb wt.) to no avail… meaning it ripped the paper instead of cutting it. I tried others, like cardboard, envelopes and construction paper. Same results.

1 – The Facebook ad showed a leather (presumably) sheath for the knife. That was one of the reasons why I bought this. There was no sheath included.

2 – Sharpness. Outside of the ridiculous portrayal of a heated knife slicing thru some item, my Huusk knife failed rather miserably. I don't eat tomatoes, so I did not use one as shown in various videos. I did, however, try an English cucumber since it is a relatively tough skinned vegetable. I was able to make an initial cut on the third pass of the knife. The 1st pass did not make any imprint. The 2nd actually began to cut the vegetable. On the 3rd pass, I was able to pass thru the skin.
I stopped there and simply pressed on the knife. From the ads and, what I presume are paid for videos, I should have been able to slice the cuke. It mashed rather than sliced it.

3 – My final test, and the main reason I bought this item, was to do a simple field dress of wild game and fish.
The first I attempted to use was a channel catfish. Since the catfish has no scales, I figured it should have no issues. The point of the knife was, *and is*, quite sharp and had no difficulty penetrating my fish. There it ended. No matter how carefully I drew the knife along the skin, it would not cut cleanly. I say "cleanly" because it *did* cut, with far more work than any other knife I have used for this purpose. Fail.
The second was to prepare a groundhog, woodchuck, if you will. – This animal was taken legally from a farmer's field with permission – Again, the point made a very clean penetration. Then, it became a chore to use. I had the same, if not worse, results as I had with the fish.

I attempted no other tests. The paper test should have given me pause. I have not, nor will I ever, attempt to sharpen this thing. It Is NOT Worth It.
However, a HUGE but here, the hole in the blade makes this knife a joy to handle! If only it did something – ANYTHING! – else.
My opinion? Do I really need to say?!

Other than the sometimes fascinating deals to be sorta kinda had, my initial experience after sign-up was BAD. It appears that there is a screen where you enter your CC # and info. To the left is a big fancy box talking about buying 100 bids. For $60. No where was there a check off box stating that one would like to buy these bids. I filled in my CC info and clicked on the great big "I'm Ready to Start Winning!" box.

Within 3 minutes I got an email stating that I bought 100 bids for $60. What?! I sent an email to customer support stating my dissatisfaction over their (self-perceived) hoodwink of my CC and me. I went on to their site and utilized their "auto-bid" feature to try and spend those bids ASAP.

I just got an email from customer service saying that my account had been deactivated and a refund was put in for $47.25 back to my CC. Bravo, Quibids! Bravo! That is why I gave this operation TWO whole stars. The auto-bid thing didn't seem to work (again, self-perceived). The items I had some passing interest in were not open to bidding, but as "Buy Now". The selection of items was limited, altho' there were many MANY bid bundles up for auction.

Anyway, I was not satisfied with this operation (except the very prompt refund of my CC!) If you are an eBay fanatic, give QB a shot. But, I don't recommend it...

Tip for consumers:
UNDERSTAND!! When you sign up, you MUST buy a 100 pack of bids for $60. You Do NOT Have A Choice!!!
Read the QuiBids 101 and their help section before joining. If you understand what is said there, go looking for reviews on bidding processes and read those. When you feel that you have a good grasp of how QuiBids works, do some more research. Because if you don't, and you contact their customer support... well, I was amazed at the condescension I got in their need to explain this, that, AND the

Hi Robb. We apologize that you are unhappy with your initial QuiBids experience. When you were entering your credit card information, you were on the first purchase page, which states the 100 bids for $60 that you are entering your credit card information for. We understand that some people may not take the time to read what they are entering their information for, which is why we offer a full refund for the unused bids in your account. Since you had placed a portion of your bids, which subsequently affected the outcome of auctions, we were only able to refund you the amount in bids you had remaining. We strongly encourage every person to read the information in QuiBids 101 and our Help sections before bidding so you know exactly how our model works. Feel free to contact us at support@quibids.com anytime and we'll be happy to explain any of this in further detail. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts!
