I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of gift cards through raise.com. Yes, literally thousands of dollars (value worth) of cards.
I like to purchase gift cards on sale or with special promotions for an added discount. Have been doing this for many years now.
The issue with this is when you redeem the gift card (even before a year after purchase) you may be out of money.
Raise will give you provisional credit while they "investigate " the claim. And 3 months later they will take the credit back (after the investigation is done). They will give the reasoning that the card Company reports the card was redeemed already.
Mind you this even if you provide pictures of your attempt to use the card fails. And even if the card company states that they cannot verify it was used by you, Raise will take back your credit and you will be out of $$$.
Yes, you can file a dispute with you card company or bank but I personally had no luck there either. Basically, Raises fine print states that as long as a gift card had a balance upon sale/purchase the 1 year refund for issues do not apply. It's only applicable if the gift card sold/purchased was not valid prior to sold/purchased date.
