I ordered 2 items online. One was shipped without the barcode tag and appeared to have been worn, with the tags reattached. Both items needed to be returned so I went to the store to do that. There were no sales staff in any department! I wandered around the entire second floor looking for someone. I finally came upon one woman working at the "service center", which is apparently where all purchases/returns are made now. The sales woman was very polite but she refused to return the item without the barcode tag. I told her I had a receipt with the UPC code on it. She clearly had no idea how to hand enter the UPC code. A manager had to come down, which took about 15 minutes, and completed the return. My goodness, what has happened to Macys? What is stopping people from robbing the store blind? I will never shop there again.

J Jill has a great assortment of sizes and fairly good sales although their discounts aren't what they used to be. My biggest complaint is their shipping. They dropped shop runner, which was terrible for their customers. Now you must pay for shipping, which is $10.00. It typically takes about 3 weeks to receive your order. The problem is that they use UPS SurePost. All goes well until the package arrives at the post office. It can take weeks for the post office to accept your package and sometimes they even refuse it. Please, J Jill, stop using this horrid shipping system!

I really love this site because it allows me to afford luxury items that would otherwise be beyond my ability. I have only had to return one item and it is disconcerting that returns and initial shipping are not free, so if you have to return something, you're paying for shipping twice. I also dislike that when you return something, you get store credit rather than a refund. It does take a really long time for some of the items to ship out, but if you read everything, the site tells you when the expected shipping date is, so this should not be a surprise. I feel that it's worth the wait to get such an awesome price. I think people would feel a lot better about the site if returns were free and if the cost was actually refunded.
