Well, what can I say. We booked what we thought was going to be a lovely, romantic Valentine's Day reservation at a well regarded restaurant to have a romantic dinner on Valentine's Day (with my pregnant and hungry wife). I booked weeks in advance through OpenTable, receiving my email confirmation of the reservation shortly after booking the reservation. We were very excited to see what the Chef had in store for a very special meal and had been anticipating this dining experience for weeks. After driving 45 minutes, we arrived only to find out that our reservations had been cancelled. We were told that only those who prepaid maintained their reservation, and the rest were cancelled. We provided our email and phone number when booking the reservation through OpenTable but never received any request to prepay or any email or call advising us that our reservation had been cancelled. For a site whose sole purpose is to manage reservations, OpenTable failed miserably. I will never, and I mean never, ever try booking a dinner reservation through OpenTable again, and would highly recommend that if you are reading this review and are considering booking through OpenTable, you think twice, because you may end up like me and be thrown out in the cold on what may have been meant to be a very special dinner occasion because you put your trust in OpenTable.

If you are looking for a place to spend your money but not get any item you ordered in return, then woot.com is the place for you. I have purchased several items from them before and, even though they were a little slow, they always got my item to me as expected. That was most assuredly before they were purchased by Amazon. Now you can forget about any semblance of customer service. All you can do is type in a text box on their support page and hope and pray they get back to you (hint, you will be waiting a long time so better get comfortable). In this day and age, it is utterly unbelievable that a company could behave in such a manner and expect to stay in business. And what's even more surprising as that as good as their parent company is, they are exactly the opposite in every way. How does that even make sense? Do yourself a big favor and run, don't walk, in the other direction if you even think about purchasing an item from them. It is much wiser to spend a few dollars more on a more reliable and reputable site than to gamble all or nothing with woot.com. Do you feel lucky?

Tip for consumers:
Run, don't walk, in the other direction if you are even remotely considering purchasing an item from woot.com.
