I had to create three profiles within three days because, a lead "Timothy. A" in a community of only 344 people didn't like me posting things like:
1. Registered Sex Offender awareness.
2. Newly discovered recipes.
3. Invites to join Police Dept for policing classes.
4. Promoting free events.
5. Selling items that could benefit the community.
6. Posting more than three posts in one day.
7. Don't have a complete profile.
8. And, other things that would promote community growth and awareness.
My experience:
I used to have a profile in the past and had it deactivated after being verbally abused by some ignorant neighbors. A few months later, I created a new profile without using my real name, to avoid being threatened again. A lead, "Timothy. A" from the Movie Colony East community in Palm Springs decided that I was intentionally causing problems by not being truthful about who I am and, that my postings disturbed his community. I thought we lived in the same city which in itself is a community.
About Timothy. A:
A resident of Palm Springs, California and apparently a co-founder of NextDoor.com. Previously resigned from his position but, stills holds enough power to have anyone that he deems unfit completely banned from NextDoor.com
As mentioned above, I created a new profile and it was deactivated. I made another one and it was deactivated, and then another and eventually banned. I tried to communicate with a NextDoor.com representative, Corina and after emailing her over a dozen times, she finally responded and told me that "I wasn't welcome to be a member of NextDoor.com because, I wasn't using my real name".
Later I spoke to my community "lead" Jason. P of the Marquee Apartments and he told me that because of complaints against me that my apartment community of over a 400 people can not longer communicate with any other community and that their posts can only be seen by our neighbors. Which means NextDoor.com pretty much banned all of my neighbors from contacting and sharing information with other communities.
Trick: It's easy to create a new profile after you have been banned but, eventually they will block you from using your credit card and address to verify your information. Create a new profile by using your name, if you want. Use a credit card to verify yourself and your in until some idiot, like Timothy. A finds out who you are and disagrees with you again.
Note to NextDoot: I hope people like myself cause, you to block every community from sharing vital information because, in the long run your site will have no reason to exist due to not being used. Who will you ban now?
If I had a few thousand dollars I would create a non-profit app/site that has no leads and allows people to share anything, sell anything, promote anything, disagree with anything and express themselves without being banned. I would only ban people who post sexual content, use profanity and used the app/site for the sales of illegal drugs and... I would name it something like, MyCity.com because, my city is my community.
