The website said you could try it out "risk free with no obligations" so I set up an account and took two practice tests. While setting up the account, it asked for payment information but the form said it would be saved so I could easily continue my membership after the free trial ended and I could easily cancel in "just a few clicks". After a few hours, I decided not to move forward with the subscription, and cancelled. However, I then saw that they had already charged me $76 for a one-month subscription. What a rip-off.

Tip for consumers:
Okay, I located a phone number and it was answered by a human being. After I explained the situation and said I wanted a refund, she read a script that explained that I had 30 days to cancel and receive a refund, so I had to repeat that I had already cancelled and wanted my refund now. She then processed it, which I appreciated. It will be 7-10 days before my money is returned, and I still think this is not an honest way of doing business, but at least they were responsive.

When I reached out again recently, Lumens let me know they were unable to obtain the part from the manufacturer, so they offered to send me a second lamp completely free of charge. I felt that this was a ludicrous solution and bad for the environment, but generous on their part and maybe the only way to get the part I needed, so I was appreciative of the offer.

Missing part still not received after 5 months.

I ordered a large floor lamp in March. It arrived in good condition and I was pleased with the quality. It was difficult to assemble but I eventually got it all set up. However, I could not find the tiny Allen screw that connects the knob to the on/off switch. It looks tacky without the knob and it's awkward to turn on and off. I called Lumens and at first they suggested I look for a replacement online. I tried but it's nearly impossible to find tiny screws that are just the right size. So after a fair amount of bureaucracy and more waiting (days), I was told they would replace the Allen screw at no cost. (This is a part that costs no more than a few cents.) They told me to expect it in April. A few weeks into April, I received another message saying it would be sent on July 1. July came and went... no part. I'm not confident I'll ever receive it. I could return the whole lamp for a replacement, but I no longer have the packaging and I shudder to think what it would take to take this one apart, pack it, ship it (it's heavy), unpack a new one, and assemble it all over again. What a nightmare.

I received a very nice email message from Coldwater Creek and they have now processed my return and also offered to waive the shipping fee, so I feel the situation has been corrected. I'm still disappointed that it took this long, but I say better late than never!

I sent back about $200 worth of clothes 2 months ago and haven't received a refund yet. I've tried calling and emailing customer service and they either don't respond or tell me to keep waiting. The wait time at the call center was almost 40 minutes! Terrible. I'll never buy anything from them again.

Tip for consumers:
Don't buy anything unless you're sure you want to keep it.
