Bought a prepaid $100 prepaid card at the end of november 2023, and could not access the funds. I could not get the card activated, and after multiple emails and calls they tell me that their records show my account has already been closed, and my social security number showed up as belonging to a deceased person. I checked my credit report with all 3 major bureaus, my chex systems report, and my records at the social security administration. None of them list me as deceased. They told me to get some form from the social security office to show I was mistakenly marked deceased, but I cant get it because they never made that mistake. I recommend not even making eye contact with netspend cards.
