5/22/22

I filled out an online request for an inspection and evaluation in April 2022, after seeing a single mouse in my house. They showed up the next day and hard pressured me into an unneeded, unwanted set of termite bait stations. I paid several thousand upfront and signed up for their 12 month contract, which they implied was required. They promised to rid my home of any rodents, including cutting a hole into my foundation, installing a door, so that they could access my crawlspace and do extensive work in there. Within a few days, someone showed up to install about 12 termite bait stations around the exterior, another employee showed up to haphazardly throw 3 cheap mouse bait stations around the interior of my home (when I already had about 20 of my own around the home), and another employee showed up to stuff a few total feet of exclusion under the siding at various points.

8 weeks later I'd heard nothing more about the extensive work on the foundation and in the crawlspace, so I rid myself of the minimal mouse issue. Now Terminix will NOT cancel my $100/month "contract." I was told by a customer service rep through their online chat that they under no circumstances cancel contracts, despite having a button to request cancelation. They rudely told me "all you people do this... you get our excellent service, we rid your home of problems, so you want to cancel and stop paying us. We don't cancel!" Now I'm getting harassed almost daily by both Terminix and their financing company, SMAC, for payments for service I NEVER received. They supplied maybe $600 worth of products and labor. They've already been paid thousands, and want to keep collecting $100 per month for a year.

This company is a SCAM.

I purchased $400 worth of tickets on 06/05/21 for an event scheduled 04/16/22. It was not until after Ticketmaster collected the money for my MOBILE tickets, which do not require printing, mailing, etc., that I got a notice that my mobile tickets would not be available in my account for more than 10 months - just a few days prior to the actual event. This is clearly intended so that any resales basically have to go through their own reselling site, so that they get to collect yet more fees for tickets. I purchased tickets, and do not have them. I was not provided warning that I would not actually be given tickets for 10 months, and that if I wanted to resell them it would have to be through their own site, prior to purchase. I would not have purchased them, had I known. This is a mobile ticket, after all... there is no other reason they should not be made immediately available. Ticketmaster has a very, very, very long history of continual immoral, unscrupulous, and illegal business practices, screwing both the performer and the customer at every turn, which is why both performers and customers hate having to deal with them. And this is yet another in that long line of Ticketmaster frauds and scams.

READ YOUR LEASE CAREFULLY!

Seriously, you need to read your lease agreement. One week after your final payment your lease will expire. If you need to extend the lease, you'll instantly be charged a new lease fee and a setup fee, despite that your account is already active in their system. Furthermore, they charge you monthly for a "device protection plan," yet if the device is ever damaged or lost, you still owe them the full cost of the device - so what's the protection plan for except additional revenue and profits? Section 11 of the lease is particularly interesting, in which they state that if you ever disagree with any aspect of the lease, you are in default, and must immediately return your device, pay a lease cancellation fee, AND continue paying through the end of your original lease. So... if you're continuing to pay through the end of the lease, what's the cancellation fee for?

Tip for consumers:
There are other options out there which have to be more legitimate than this one. They will nickel and dime you to death, every week or two, for every single thing ever done, etc. And they will look for ways to extend your time on the device, and therefore having to pay them over and over and over. And best of all, according to their lease (which is intentionally too small to read in the app and can't be zoomed in), if you disagree with any of it, you're in default and immediately owe them more.

Just a note - if they don't pick up and bring all of your food, Postmates will NOT refund you. Instead they offer you an account credit for the amount of the missing items, which must be used within 30 days. So they take your money, do not give you all of the food you purchased, and then resolve that by requiring you to order from them again within a month. "Sorry we stole your money. If you want it back you'll give us MORE money. ASAP!" I was actually told that I had to request a refund instead of a credit prior to the expiration of the credit. Ironically I sent them multiple emails the day they placed the credit on my account telling them I wanted a refund instead - that I had no intention of using their dishonest business again. And they waited until the day after the credit expired - 31 days later - to reply and tell me they could not refund me because the credit had expired the previous day. They don't even reply to BBB complaints about it.

Tip for consumers:
Note that if they mess up - if they wait 3 hours then cancel your order when they realize how late they are, or if you pay for food that they don't bring you, you will be required to pay them MORE money for additional orders in a very short time frame in order to get your own money back as a credit. It is the literal definition of bait and switch.
