We bought a new carpet from American Floorcraft for a stairway & hallway about a year ago. A few years earlier, we had a good experience buying a rug from American Floorcraft, but this time, things went badly from the beginning. Paul, the owner, is a very likable, nice man. But he kept mixing up information about our order, & we had repeated emails back & forth to get the order correct. The main problem was the installer. I will take Paul's word for it that this man is usually a very good installer. The day he was installing our rug, he was in a HUGE hurry to leave because he was starting a hunting trip as soon as he finished our job. He did a HORRIBLE job of installing the rug. I was shocked. Paul came to look at it, & was also dismayed at the terrible installation. He agreed to replace the rug, as he should. The next day he phoned & asked if the installer could come out & try to correct the many errors. I felt sorry for the installer, & for Paul, one of whom was going to have to pay for our replacement rug. The installer came & did fix quite a few of the errors, so it was better. My husband & I agreed to accept the rug as is. But the problem that persists to this day is that many of the threads of the rug were pulled out of the weave when the installer was doing his terrible installation. He misused a sharp instrument, pulling quite a few threads out of the rug. I see this every day when I go up & down the stairs, & I regret very much my decision to not insist on a replacement rug.
