I've purchased gift cards & vouchers and sold gifts cards on Raise.
Here are the tips I learned along the way:
1) Before redeeming any card or voucher-look up the balance. At the bottom of the Raise page click on Resources- Gift card Balance- select merchant name. If certificate shows as invalid or zero balance call Raise immediately. 2) Do NOT wait on hold! When call volumes are high opt to keep your place in the queue but select the option for a Call Back. 3) Set Alerts on Raise to save time & money. Gift cards you want to purchase out of stock or not discounted enough? Choose the card you want and set the *discount- when it becomes available you'll receive an email. *hint- be resonable -if you set an alert for a popular merchant@50% off it may not ever be available. 4) Make sure when using an E voucher at a brick & mortar merchant that they know how to enter the transaction. I've had cashiers tell me E-certificates were for online sales only (or even worse that a voucher was invalid) when they simply didn't know how to ring the sale properly. If you have a balance on the voucher (see #1) ask for another cashier.
I've had great experiences buying & selling on Raise. I've also had some purchases that showed 0 balance, or invalid cards In every case customer service was professional, issued refunds and solved the problem
