How I Can Help

I'm not going to be that active on here after I finish making some reviews as I don't really use that many websites online. I only joined this one so that I could help share some of my past experiences with different websites, what I do or don't trust about them, as well as advise if there are any safety concerns to be worried over.

  • YouTube

Years later even after Google has long since bought out YouTube to be owned by Google's corporation, nothing has changed in regards to the types of people on this website. For being the "most well-known streaming website" in the world with a popular userbase, without a doubt you will unfortunately encounter trolls, unmonitored children and bots that send links to hack your account.

Nothing short of a cesspool of cancerous toxicity reeks on this platform. Abuse of the downvotes being spam-targeted when being bullied by someone and/or a clique of their crappy little friends in attempts to mess with the algorithm, ranging to YouTube's overall platform having changed making it difficult to even get noticed on there anymore.

Not to mention the high amount of advertisements being shoved into videos regardless if someone is in the YouTube partner program or not. All that website cares about is fricking money, money, money. It is no longer a place where people just upload random shenanigans with friends or sharing public events for the fun of it, everything is all forced monetary e-begging one way or another; if not someone asking for money, it's YouTube always shoving it's Premium service in your face to stop having so many advertisements.

The advertisements tend to play two unskippable ads back-to-back, followed by even more ads midway through the video and even towards the end as well constantly interrupting watch times.

Don't even get me started on "YouTube Kids". What is even the bloody point of having a SEPARATE APP FOR THEM if a video that gets marked for kids ((i.e. Sonic, Mario, anything that isn't mature related like Grand Theft Auto or Call Of Duty related)), I cannot stand how any video marked "for kids" (whether intentionally or decided by YouTube's shoddy automation system itself) makes the miniplayer not work.

I like to multitask, when I watch a video or listen to some video game soundtracks from childhood games or shows I grew up with, it's annoying that I can't browse the internet or exit the app to check my other apps for any other notifications without the video being forced to pause until I re-enter the app with the screen at full size.

Absolutely no reason screwing up the main YouTube app if they're not going to bother working on their YouTube Kids app; no point in having it if they can't differentiate keeping the two separate.

Tip for consumers:
Don't use the comments section if you are a sensitive snowflake or easily fall for scams. Not worth wasting your time over. It's not to say that there aren't any good members, there are good people on there but the masses of the bots, trolls and hackers to genuinely good people ratio is rather unbalanced majorly.

  • DeviantArt

I had spent over twelve years on DeviantArt and I must say that it is absolutely a nightmare now than what it used to be. What was once a fun and entertaining website to be on as I eagerly enjoyed daily usage, now I dread having to even sign on to see what garbage has decided to bother me now.

If it's not the bot followers I receive, there's always either some fricking underage kid or pedophile fetishest adding innocent artworks to their dirty collections. I despise what this website has become, absolutely no control over the amount of garbage users have been joining in recent years (i.e., the bots, kids and pedos) posting terrible half-attempt drawings that provide no value.

To make things worse, DeviantArt now supports A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) "art" on its platform, as well as forcing a paywall on an important feature like "2-Step Authenticator" is only available for Core users.

What has become of this website? It's practically on life support at this point.

Tip for consumers:
Learn that this website is NOT intended for kids!

deĀ·viĀ·ant
/Ėˆdēvēənt/
adjective
departing from usual or accepted standards, especially in social or sexual behavior.
"deviant behavior"
noun
a deviant person or thing.

Parents, moderate your fricking kids already. The word "Deviant" in DEVIANT-Art does NOT mean "child-friendly". It is NOT safe for anyone under 18 or 21 depending on country laws!

  • Fur Affinity

11/17/23

I used to be a member of FurAffinity for over ten years until I finally decided it was time to deactivate and leave it for good.

FurAffinity was once a decent place to be in terms of long time discoverability because of how well everyone can easily remember the name FurAffinity regardless if you are a furry or not, however that is also a conundrum in itself.

Because unless if you are a successful "popĆ¼fur" (which is a nickname for being a popular furry, or have a higher audience on some other website to self-promote and advertise your profile), then good luck getting noticed. Because unless if you make fursuits or flooding tons of explicit nsfw works into your gallery for a more perverse audience, nobody really cares who you are on FurAffinity if you don't meet anyone's extremely high and biased expectations.

No matter how hard you try to improve your art, your view counts will always remain low, people rarely bother to comment and favourites are also low.

You'd be better off sticking to DeviantArt if you're that adamant about getting noticed; they offer a groups function that allows you to get your art pushed out into other people's inboxes, regardless if they follow you personally or not, for those watching art groups and you'd have a better chance of exposure on there unlike FurAffinity's way of having a temporary display on the front page before it gets lost in the art portal where it'll be forgotten.

FurAffinity has also frequently known for being targeted under multiple DDoS attacks causing it to shut down temporarily, so if that also isn't a warning sign about how unorganized and outdated this website is then I don't know what is. There was also a rumor they once hired a hacker as one of their admins years ago which also left some damage on the reputation of the types of people they hire on their staff team.

Another thing to include, there has been a lot of creepy stuff coming around FurAffinity. A lot of people have been coming out as either a pedophile and/or have a real life interest in beastiality.

Tip for consumers:
Be careful with who you interact with on there. You never know what creep you might encounter on there.

DO NOT JOIN THIS WEBSITE IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 OR 21! For your sanity please wait until you're older, there are some disgusting behaviours on there you should NOT be exposing yourself to if you are sensitive.

  • Cashapp

The support system is either completely automated and/or has some rude advocates because one was starting to give me attitude after they made me repeat my problem in regards about why CashApp's Authenticator under Security is only available for iPhone users while Android users don't have access to it.

Upon contacting CashApp and providing proof of a side-by-side comparison of iPhone versus Android users, the support team on both CashApp's system and Twitter have deliberately ignored my question in regards to why iPhone users have the Authenticator option available to them in CashApp's security settings, while Android users do not have such a feature to access.

One of the advocates seemed irritated by my questioning with no direct answers to my assumptions over company device priority. They started off professionally, then as the conversation went on they were making some typos barely making an effort to communicate properly and treated me like I was some idiot despite having provided a photo of both devices together in the same setting, proving that Android users are not treated as a priority for additional features that have been exclusive to iPhone users.

I would not recommend this platform if you expect to receive any help, you're either going to get bot responses repeating and not taking time to review the problem, or some of the advocates will give an attitude without bothering to consider the issue.

Tip for consumers:
Do not blame yourself if you find yourself frustrated with this service. If you check out Reddit users experiences, apparently a lot of people have been complaining about various issues with this platform and its history on DownDetector as well.
