My niece was online and a pop up window appeared that said her computer was infected and to contact them immediately. These scammers made it appear to be from Microsoft and when she called they falsely claimed to represent Microsoft. After being on the phone with them for over an hour they were able to scare her into purchasing a 2 year service package for over $900. She could have bought a new computer with that much money. Fortunately we were able to stop the payment by calling her credit card company's fraud centre. This is were we were told the charge was from Easytechy and not Microsoft as they said confirming it was a lie and fraudulent. I then spent some time scanning and deleting viruses and now her computer is back to normal. If you ever see a pop up scream telling you that your computer has something wrong with please turn your computer off and eather take it to someone local or call the real Microsoft for help.
