The animal rescue site is part of greater good charities which donates money to other charities. They are based in Seattle, Washington. I have purchased a lot of items from them, and love it! It is true that many items are made in China, as is true of many affordable vendors. They also have a lot of fair trade clothing and jewelry which is also eco-conscientious if you prefer to go that route. I have purchased a mix of both fair trade items and items made in China. If you look at item description and other item details you can see whether you are buying fair trade or something from China. And by the way for those who are concerned with whether or not the animal rescue site is legit, it is part of greater good charities and they can be found on Charity Navigator. Look up greatergood.org and you will find them on Charity Navigator. It is consistent with the information on the animal rescue site. I have added some images of just a handful of items I have purchased from greater good.

Tip for consumers:
There is a flat fee for shipping no matter how much you spend, and different shipping options (standard, priority, 2 day). They have free shipping promo codes every so often around the holidays and other times. Promotions are constantly changing, so if there is something you like that is full price and can wait a bit, it likely will go on sale at some point during the year. Once an item goes on sale you need to act fast.

Products used:
I have purchased so many items from this site. Fair trade scarfs, dresses (casual), jewelry, storage bins, silicone pans, aprons, Christmas ornaments, shoes, knitted hats, slippers, pajamas, ceramic travel mugs, magnetic notepads for the fridge, sweatshirts...I started out just buying costume jewelry that I thought was really cute to see how it was. I loved the costume jewelry so much I started slowly buying more and now I sometimes have difficulty spending less than $50 when I buy from the site! They sell almost everything kind of like a department store. I did not comment on returns because I have yet to return an item. I believe they have a 90 day full refund for most items but not sure what you would need to pay to ship items back.

These are unstructured slippers -- the kind of slippers I like best. They are the same quality as what I have gotten from Bed bath and beyond for an unstructured slipper. They also sell more structured slippers as well. product 2

I laid out the sweatshirt so the cut and design could sort of be made out. I like this relaxed sweatshirt, the Paw Print and I really like the color. I have since worn this out and removed the label. Giving one to my sister too. product 3

A casual canvas handbag I purchased. I feel it was exactly what was advertised and I am very pleased with it. It's my new go-to casual bag. product 4
