“WIRED MAGAZINE”

Marty F.
9/16/21

I love WIRED. Perhaps because it gives me a balanced view and access to so much information that isn't common knowledge to average individuals. Perhaps the high tech world doesn't appreciate it. In my world of health care the information covered here is not our focus. We are busy saving lives and supporting individuals during stressful periods in their lives. Full disclosure: I am a Nurse Clinician and semi-retired. Our salaries are pocket change for those in tech and business. I deeply appreciate Wired with their articulate; insightful articles. They appear ethical actually cover great a variety of subject matter. I really don't understand their low value rating. It is the reason, I was motivated to write. Top Critical Review

“Occasional great articles lost among lots of leftist, racist, sexist garbage”

Steven G.
12/7/21

This used to be a very good magazine focused on technology. Over the years, it has increasingly become a conduit for leftist, anti-white, anti-male, anti-heterosexual, anti-capitalist, anti-Republican propaganda, seemingly written by ignorant, bigoted children. Occasionally, a good article slips past the Woke editors, but that doesn't happen frequently enough to justify a subscription.

Although beautifully presented, the US edition of Wired imported into the UK is an absolute joke, given the price, how much advertising do you need? The current edition was light enough on articles as it was, 50% of the mag was advert after advert. At this price point I don't want ads, if you're targeting this as a premium product, then fill it with something worth paying for. I normally get the UK version, no idea what happened to it this month.

Wired.com has forgotten about journalist integrity and instead decided to let unstable people vent their personal feelings inside of, what should be unbiased and professional product reviews. If that's allowed then I should also be allowed to review Wired.com based on how their Hogwarts Legacy review "made me feel".
So I rate them 0/10 for making me feel betrayed and outraged by their lack of professionalism and not being able to objectively do their jobs.

Trust is earned not given. Same with respect.

Tip for consumers:
Do yourself a favour and use other sites instead. Wired.com used to be great, but they've now killed it.

The Wired brand has quite obviously gone from a decent publication about technology to become a purely negative corporate mouthpiece. I don't give them any more money or clicks and never will again. Just a shameful pathetic excuse of fake journalism. The Onion has more truth than the junk on Wired.

$#*!ty woke anti-white anti-male anti-straight propaganda. Has been going on for a while but the latest review on the Hogwarts game is just appalling. So much ideology it's insane that these people think they're doing good.

Wired has the poorest customer service I have ever encountered. The call service worker was rude and dismissive when I tried to figure out why I had a full subscription charge after dropping service over a year ago. The worker was extremely dismissive, having sarcastic undertones when I just wanted to clarify information. The worker had the demeanor of a spoiled child who doesn't want to do the job they're hired to do. All in all, don't subscribe because from start to end, Wired is not worth any of your time.

Tip for consumers:
Don't purchase a subscription; it is not worth the headache

In articles that have nothing to do with U.S. politics, writers go out of the way to insert their political opinions as facts. Hard to then trust real facts if political commentary is dressed up as issues that are not up for debate. Used to love the magazine, but sadly I think the editorial board believes it has some political indoctrination mission.

When they don't allow comments, you know it's trash, or has an agenda.

Those who make it hard to comment or remove that while plastering offensive articles are not 'real people'. Such a website is just a troll website that likely generates no revenue, made by some rich troll, that probably has bad genetics and health to plaster such nonsense around.

I was just drawn to it by an offensive article once again trying to 'give credit' for Atomic bombs to Africans/Africa as if they were integral to that somehow. Usual leftist nonsense trying to incorporate racism and also nowadays make it seem like 'black people did things they never actually did', which is just for low IQs in my opinion.

Just thought I'd add my 1 star review in.

Once my go-to magazine for technology, reduced to a political and social justice rag. I really don't want to be inundated with politics with every turn. It's sad that there are really not any really good magazines that talk about just technology with no slant.

Unfortunately there have been incidents of product reviews that are entirely based on subjective opinions about people affiliated with the product rather than objective reviews about the product itself. This renders it useless and does little to build trust in any other articles.

They post extremely biased reviews on games such as Hogwarts legacy where they promote hatespeech. I thought critics should be objective?

Tip for consumers:
To not take their reviews seriously.

They gave the Hogwart's Legacy game a 1/10 review because of it's connection with Rowling. I can't believe anything they say anymore.

Tip for consumers:
Don't trust anything they say.

I attempted a free trial offer of this magazine and realized it wasn't for me. No offense to the subject matter, just not my style. I then proceeded to cancel the subscription as to not be charged, only to have this magazine constantly attempting to debit my card 29.99. This has been going on for 3 months now! I emailed a few different addresses I found to tell them the situation. One came back as a false email! The others won't even respond! Awful customer service! I had to cancel that card so I wouldn't be charged anymore! Good luck to anyone attempting the free trial! My advice is, DON'T!

This has got to be one of the most dishonest websites on the Internet. They have zero integrity. Their employees and writers are bullies and terrible people. Their articles lack credibility and proof. It should be a crime to be this disingenuous.

Most reviews aren't objective, they're unprofessional mudslinging at irrelevant elements of the media and/or product. The latest review for a popular video game was obvious virtue-signalling bait, and WIRED should be removed as a Metacritic reviewer.

Tip for consumers:
Avoid using this site for media reviews, they're not impartial and are highly biased.

Not an objective outlet. Reviews are not based on facts but subjective opinions of the writer. Very much useless when it comes to getting information on a product.

I signed up to Wired subscription promo for just $1. Eventually, my subscription auto renewed and they started charging me $29.99 USD. I tried to cancel my subscription via online but they said they couldn't find my account. When I called them, they couldn't find my account either, even after providing all the information.

Their review of Hogwarts legacy is shamefully biased and unfair to both the developers who put in quite the effort in making an amazing game filled with magic, and unfair to the consumers who use review sites to be informed about their decisions im a trustworthy manner. There is no reason for all people to love (or hate) the same thing in the same way, but when it's an intentional act and shows failed integrity (just like review bombing is not allowed on steam and other sites) the editors should not have allowed the review to go up, and should have informed the writer to simply allow another person to review the game instead.

Tip for consumers:
Biased reviews may not be trustworthy enough to inform your decision on buying a game

Wired.com has many great articles and thought provoking insights, but when it comes to customer service, all of these great perks totally disappear in ashes. 3 times I contacted their customer service team.the agents keep changing every time, and you have to explain your issue again; none of them just give a damn and want to close your query before it's even resolved. For a company who writes about latest trends in the world of digital and how important it is to put a customer in the centre of the business universe, their own strategy seem to lack that one.

No journalistic integrity among reviewers, bombing game ratings for "journalists" extremist ideology. Not a reputable source for game reviews.
