I only gave one star as I couldn't give zero.
Avoid at all costs, failed to communicate at all, didn't deliver on time and took charges when the advertised offer is fee free.
Always a problem when you part with your money to unregulated companies, they can do what they like. Considering court action to recover charges.
I never usually write reviews but after reading some reviews i feel like i need to!
by the looks of comments below there must have been reasons that the customer has not told us that have caused the mishap. Surely if you were sending money to a company you never used before you would read the terms and conditions which i must say - weren't very long and were very clear.
I had a great experience with TravelFX. firstly i was worried using such a site as i never have before, me being a late 50 something year old woman not so good on the computer. I called the company and asked how the process worked they said that you place your order online then you'll recieve and email with the payment instructions and so on and that they would need to see the money in there account before 12 o clock on a day before they could dispatch.
I had trouble with my online banking and was really worried and could not arrange for the bank to transfer money before the deadline and with the weekend coming up as i knew the post does not work as normal over the weekend - travelling the monday morning i was hysterical about my money.
I called them numerous times panicking and they could not have been more lovely and helpful i do not understand where you are coming from stating that the customer service was bad when i had the opposite feeling towards it! I feel that most companys offer a very standard q+a feeling over the phone . they were very personable and really went out of their ways to help.
There was nothing they could do about the bank transfer as that is obviously out of their hands. But they suggested that if they receive the funds before 12 oclock on the friday then they could deduct the £15 for next day saturday delivery ( i also checked this on the royal mail website to ensure i wasn't being mugged off and this was the correct price) i agreed so they kindly deducted the charges and adjusted my funds. i recieved by package on the saturday morning and couldn't have been more delighted.
i feel they have been given a bad name on this site for unfair reasons due to naive people. I could not be more happy to reccommend and would will use again and again and again.
also to the below comments, when did you think shouting at the staff was going to get you anywhere?

**PLEASE AVOID THIS WEBSITE - IT IS RUN BY COWBOYS - DAMIAN GEORGE (THE DIRECTOR) BEING THE WORST ONE.
I wont waste your time telling my stroy from start to finish, but basically I placed an order on a Wednesday for delivery the next day. Then on the next day the money hadnt arrived so I chased it up and they said I was 60p short on my transfer - (I asked to exchange £500 to EUR and they suggested £500.64 to make like easier for them) but because I didnt want to make it £500.64 they sat on my money and didnt send the currency.. So I called and asked them to cancel the order as I was travelling the next day, and now they have charged me over £35 for the pleasure. I have had numerous coversations with them and have just been told "it's in our terms and conditions" which I dont doubt but they could show some flexibility.
I have now spoken to colleagues here and out of a company of 11, 7 of us have used this bunch of cowboys and none of us would use them again, solely due to the customer service and the terrible way the company is run.
**WHATEVER YOU DO, AVOID THIS COMPANY - GO TO THE NEXT ONE DOWN ON THE COMPARISON SITE, WHOEVER THEY MAY BE!! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY WITH YOUR MONEY!!**
On another note, the same day I was having all this aggro with TravelFX I placed an order online with Travelex. I then collected the money from Gatwick Airport Airside and they were absolutely great! It was exactly the same cost / amount as the jokers at TravelFX but they were brilliant at Travelex. I just took the print out and job done. Also they let the people we were travelling with exchange their money at the same rate I got online rather than the one at the Airport which was a really nice touch.
So whatever you do, dont use DAMIAN GEORGE and TRAVEL FX - they are TERRIBLE!! I travel quite a lot and from now on its Travelex all the way for me!!
also i called and asked about the currency converter changing the total cost and its simply to round up to the nearest note -- this benefits noone it is just how the exchange rate workss?!
PLEASE AVOID THIS WEBSITE AT ALL COST!
These people are crooks and very unprofessional! They have ruined my first holiday in 8 years by cancelling my order less than 24hours before I'm due to leave. To add to the insullt they tried to blame me for their mistakes claiming that because I was rude to staff their is nothing they can do for me. Newsflash I wasn't rude I went easy on them considering they made a huge $#*! up and left me upset and angry. They even had the cheek to tell they can't put the money back into my account and that I have to wait for cheque. Newflash a cheque isn't good enough! They have got £503.14 of my money! Do for godsake avoid this company for your mental health!

You forgot to mention we tried to help you but you told us that we were useless, also you failed to mention that your bank never released your funds in time to get it for Tuesday delivery as you were travelling early on the Wednesday morning. You also informed us Wednesday delivery was useless for you and our again our service was pathetic. Oh also that you placed two orders and we cancelled one of them as a gesture of good will even though as a business it cost us money to process.
As i explained to your mother when she rang after your numerous calls, we tried to help you get your order on time but each time we did you thought a raised voice and offering insults was the way to get the result you wanted even though we never received your funds in time. Had you explained that you were travelling at 3pm Wednesday you would have had your funds by 9am Wednesday morning enabling you to enjoy your holiday. Instead you managed to insult 4 different staff members and state our service was pathetic.
We run a business that is dedicated to the highest service levels and constantly dealing with last minute issues with very little fuss. You chose to be difficult and rude.
Sometimes you have to admit you can’t help everyone and lose a customer.
Your funds were returned to you yesterday via cheque as you turned done the offer to CHAPs you your funds back

No you didn't try to help me. The reason why I made numerous calls was because your company doesn't know how to communicate! I left several voice messages and emails all of which were unanswered. My mum had to step in because you decided to act unprofessional and ignore me by putting me on hold and passing me from one person to the next.
When I rang I kept being put on hold or told that "I don't know who you spoke to". The funds left my account on Saturday as my statement clearly shows.
I never once said Wednesdays deliverly was useless! I said Wednesday the latest as I didn't want my holiday to be rushed.
You then decided to cancelled the order without my even telling me! I was angry because I was told the money would be delivered on Tuesday which it didn't and when I rang on Monday I was told my order couldn't be found. I left several voice messages and emails all of which were unanswered.
Also I never placed two orders. I filled in your online form once, yet received two emails with different order numbers on them. If I have been charged £50 and don't receive my full payment back, I will be involving the ombudsman as I didn't cancel the order, you did and I didn't place two orders. Your terms and conditions states "The Company reserves the right to cancel any order at any time for any reason. In the event of the Company cancelling an order the customer will be reimbursed the full amount paid, by Cheque or credit transfer depending on the initial form of payment". So lets see if you have stuck to it.
For the record I never refused a CHAPS I wasn't even given a chose! Nobody even asked for my bank details. Your colleague was supposed to phone me back and never did. Why the hell would I opt for a cheque when I needed my money for my holiday asap?
You choose the option of a cheque to be spiteful and to make the situation more unpleasureable and drawn out!
Also this so called cheque hasn't even arrived!

These travel scams are the worst because people book months in advance and prepay and that makes it very hard to get money back from credit cards...that is why people make travel scams.
