Here are some tips to avoid getting scammed by those little rascals on TC-V 1) Always ask for an auction sheet. Fact: Most cars listed there are bought at auction and will give you a good items of the condition of the car. If you do not speak Japanese you can use google translate to assist you with translating the auction sheet. Some may not have an auction sheet as the vehicle may have been purchased privately, If so move to tip #2. 2) Always, always and always ASK FOR THE VEHICLE EXPORT CERTIFICATE. This is an official document issued for all vehicles that are to be exported from japan. If includes the correct vehicle vin / chassis number, along with the correct mileage of the vehicle. In my case those scammers deliberately covered up the mileage on the document before sending me photos of the export certificate and i was completely unaware of this until it was too late. So ensure that the document has all these details. I have attached a photo of and example of an export certificate. I have highlighted in red the chassis number of the vehicle and in green the mileage of the vehicle. The mileage at the top will be the most recent mileage. 3) Request many photos Request as many photos as possible. Some sellers tend to display very dull photos on their listings to hide details of the vehicle, If there isn't enough photos ask them to take more photos and email them to you. Photos of font, rear, sides and the under body of the vehicle as many of those vehicle may have rust on the under body so the sellers will neglect to take a photo of the under body of the vehicle. In my case, they had about 6 photos and they deliberately did not photo the front windshield to hide the large crack. I hope this helps you all. Best of luck.
I purchased a Nissan Skyline from Gemmy Trading LLC. Trevor seemed ok, but then I found out the car had damaged in few areas which he did not inform me. Since he already had the deposit, he refused to send a refund. Furthermore, his company performed maintenance service on the car and it was not done correctly. Upon receiving the car, I had to repay for the services again. Very disappointed.

Stay away from TCV, their business model is pretty simple, they have no actual car inventory, they advertise for several Japanese used car businesses, they don't keep their listing updated, so the car that you agree to purchase may already have been sold but they pressure you to pay by international wire transfer within 48 hours, once they have your money they contact you to say the car you selected isn't available and then you argue back and forth with them for the next few weeks or months while they tell you to apply the funds you've already paid to another listing, and all the while they ignore your requests for a refund. I opened a fraud report with my bank, my bank contacted their bank who recommended that I leave the fraud report in place until they issue the refund, during this time they repeatedly insisted that they couldn't refund without me lifting the fraud report, which their own bank (Sumitomo Mitsui) said was untrue. Do yourself a favor and avoid TCV, I just got my refund from their bank (minus about $60USD for the transfer fee), their own bank refunded me while they wouldn't.
Tip for consumers:
These people take no responsibility for advertising cars that are not operational or are just not available, they ignored requests for a refund until a fraud report was opened against them.

I purchased a vehicle from tradecarview (TC-V) under the seller Carnival Co LTD, and it was one of my worst experiences ever. I suggest to stay far away from them.
First off they roll back the odometer and advertise fake odometer readings. I could the odometer reading was incorrect because the forget to remove the service history book from the vehicle. On looking through the service history it said that the vehicle had 130,000km on last service, which they claim that the vehicle had 60,000km. And it doesn't make sense to complain as it will just fall on deaf ears. TC-V advertises payment protection, and they never live up to this claim. Whatever the seller says they will agree with them and later on will tell you that they are not liable to make the seller offer a refund for false advertising.
When I questioned the company about the condition of the vehicle, they said everything is great high quality vehicle. But never mentioned that the windshield had a large crack. They purposefully take photos at certain angles to hide damage on the vehicle. When I received the vehicle I opened a complaint to the buyer about the windshield. They said they cannot do anything about it because it did not leave Japan with a crack (liars). And TC-V just agreed with them, saying oh the seller said it didn't leave with a crack so then it must be true. The nerve of these people.
TC-V just copies and paste the same response to you over and over again no matter what you say.
Below is the message they continually sent to me over and over again and never stepped in to make a difference.
"Dear sir
Thank you for your message.
Regarding to your request, only the seller can take prompt action for you.
As we checked, you have already sent a message to the seller.
Please wait for their reply patiently.
We are sorry but sellers cannot see messages addressed to Customer Support.
If there is no response from the seller in a timely manner, please let us know for assistance.
Kind Regards,
Customer Support"
You have been warned, stay far away from tradecarview / TC-V.
They have sent a damaged car when they guaranteed Warrant of Fitness in New Zealand. Even inspection gave it a clean chit. My Compliance Center says they havd never seen such a rusted vehicle in the past. Most probably it was tsunami damaged vehicle.
Numerous emails and every time I was asked to fill in complaint form on the portal. No action was taken by them and stopped even replying afterwards. Phoned them few times. Every time a new operator whose english was extremely poor making you frustrated. They simply repeat their sentence to complaint on the sites form. I followed the cause for almost 8 months. Then had to give up as it was claiming my peace. THEY ARE CHEATS.
Hello I want that you can send me car and after selling it I will pay you! We have to put confiance!
Let us make this deal
Luckily i haven't bought vehicle i was after. What put me off is that seller Nihonsha Land Co. Who sells car im intrested in has it advertised with odometer changed and relatively low mileage for 1999 car. After numerous emails asking to provide true mileage or any service records at what mileage odometer got changed - i did get response to pay $450 to do check up and without payment is no way of knowing it. Cat in the bag - It's a scam attitude to run trade like this. Very poor!

I had the most horrid experince with japan partner inc. This company is a scam and I would not recommend it even to my worst enemy. The company has a user agreement that allows them to scam people with no consequenses. If you value your money and your sanity, dont buy with them, they will take your money and simply frustrate you untill you give up chasing what you were buying from them. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! You can follow my experiences and also others with similar horror stories at japanpartnereview.com
I don't know what all the bad reviews are all about., I have bought many cars from various dealers on tradecarview I have never got a bad car in fact some of the best car deals I have ever made have come from Japan through tradecarview
Collect my Car from Southampton Docks. Door Trim was damaged paint scraped off the plastic moulding the fill length of the car, Scrapes marks on rear bumper, Gear Knob and radio volume button is missing. All the faults were not mentioned in the car advertising.
I have tried to contact them via their EMAIL system which worked before taking delivery of the car. They no longer reply too.
I was informed the car had been shipped in June and on inquiry on documents not received the car was only shipped in July.
I have bought 2 cars from trade carview. I bought a Mitsubishi colt ralliart 2004 in 2011. After 5 years I still have the car driving perfectly condition. The only Part I had to change in 2015 was one of the ignition coils. During 4 yeras I have bought 10 cars for friends and relatives from this site. All still running.
I February I bought a Toyota Ractis for my wife. Bought car came as described on site.
I for one is very happy with my purchases.
I started a business of importing cars from this site for clients. All Good.

John.
Curacao Netherlands Antilles.
I have got 2 cars from tradecarview at different times first car was a 1991 crown had gearbox probs was not happy few years after i went for a 1999 cresta with very low miles car is 99 percent perfect so its a risk i will agree but i would look at the reviews of the seller first they are some good sellers but so many very bad ones
Hi am Anthony i will like to know how one can buy a car from your site without been scam and a real agent that can help get the car over to Africa Nigeria because my friends and i will like to buy some cars from your site please try and email me of the details and the procedures this is my mail *******@yahoo.com thanks in anticipation.
I placed an order for a car in January 2015. Shortly after sending payment in full for the amount specified on the proforma invoice (the official contract) I received a message from the supplier saying they couldn't ship it to Liverpool (as agreed) and could I pay a further $1000 to have it shipped to Southampton instead. Naturally I rejected this. After a further month, the supplier decided to tell me he had cancelled the order. However, the supplier did not inform Tradecarview, who then refused to refund my money (which they still hold) as they had not had email confirmation from the supplier that the deal was cancelled. I have sent over 37 pages of emails to the supplier, on a weekly basis, asking politely for them to send a confirmation of cancellation to TradeCarView - all without response.
Despite providing TradeCarView with five full transcripts (including ip addresses) of all correspondence with the supplier, I am still waiting for a refund. Each email I now send goes into a black hole for at least two weeks, without response. When I try to use the 24/7 'customer Support' service (online chat) I get the same useless response of, I will now escalate your case to Head Office. All I can say is that Head Office must either be on the 10,000 floor, or all of the people there have their heads up their ar$es.
I would no more recommend TradeCarView to anyone than I would sell my grandmother for medical research. They claim to be a joint venture with Microsoft and Yahoo Japan Corporation - I think that is as much flannel as their claim to respond to all customer service enquiries in two days - I'm into my third week for my latest attempt to get my money back, and if I was a betting man, I'd probably put a few quid on losing my shirt.
Appalling, unresponsive, untrustworthy, uncommunicative, unhelpful and unwilling to give me my money back, despite me being the injured party here.
If they were an animal, I would have nipped out for a shotgun by now.
Definitely avoid tradecarview as they are in cahoots with car dealerships in Japan to sell cars. Their reviews of dealers are not fair and accurate and they control what is put online. It is not like Amazon.com where a buyer can rate products and vendors freely. Be especially careful of the vendor, Global Partners Co. Ltd., which is a fraudulent business rated so highly on tradecarview!
Why did you sell me a used mazda bongo van in september this year that had its 'check engine light removed? After a painful two weeks I had my mechanic check why it wasnt working only to discover the light bulb had been removed! Once the bulb was replaced, the light wont go off and my mechanic says whoever removed it could not fix the problem and had it sold knowing that! I would appreciate a response.
I bought a Toyota Crown off tradecarview auction website, from the seller car light corporation, the car is not getting registered in UK because the export certificate has been altered from the standard as the car was registered as a commercial vehicle in japan and it has to be modified for this purpose from the new, the ministry or transport has removed its classification and specification number from the certificate, These numbers are needed for a car to go through IVA testing in UK before registration, I contacted car light corporation and tradecarview many times to offer a solution as these details were missing from the advertisement but they newer offered any solution, also the car needed new tires and engine oil leak sorting out before going through MOT, unfortunately this website serves in favor of fraudulent sellers as it gets their charges from them and don't bother about the buyer at all, I thing we should try to boycott this website till they change their operation strategy.
I award nine in a scale of one to ten. I bought a car from ZEST company the transactions were fast, shipment even faster. When I received my car the interior was clean, the exterior no dent at all. Thank you Yoshi of ZEST in Tradecarview.
In Png alot of people have had their import vehicles purchased through this site breakdown only after a few months of use.
Toyota Prado TRJ150W TZG, Dealer: Nihonsha Company, Invoice *******-1 paid for Dec 2017. Delayed due to low season for shipping and also inspection requirement.
Finally offloaded in Dar in February 2018.
Due to taxation issues vehicle was in storage >5 months. Released in June 2018.
Found: Reasonable body and paint condition. Leather seats intact, Air conditioner works.
However,
1. For a 2012 car the price at $ 29,945 was quite steep, and I expected a
Grade 4 or 4.5 vehicle, but it is not.
2. The battery had to be replaced on day one. While in storage it was being warmed up, so it must have been weak from start at best.
3. The engine takes 5 litres of oil, but there was less than 2 l of black watery oil in it which the dipstick could barely touch with its tip! Imagine!
4. The speedometer works and the trip meter works but the odometer is stuck at *******km, the reading on shipment. I got a technician to run diagnostics on it; the report almost confirms my fears: that the seller while tampering with the odometer to falsify the mileage short-circuited the dashboard and caused the odometer damage that got it stuck at *******!
5. The spare tyre is in tatters. It has fist size holes in it. You can pick a better tyre from any rubbish dump.
6. The spare wheel rim is a shumbles too.
7. The front brake discs rotors are deeply grooved by worn disc pads. The brakes are weak and the car has a clearly extended stopping distance.
8. The famed CD /DVD player does not work here. I have to purchase a new set
9. I have only driven the vehicle a couple of days. There is a good chance that there are more surprises waiting to be discovered, and more repairs to be undertaken!
Bottom line: This is a very raw deal for me as a customer. I am very dissatisfied by what I got from Tradecarview.
Thank you for all your responses here all your contributions really helpful. For all this reviews ill rather use my money to play casino than to give it out.
Out of my personal experience I think that tradecarview is a great site that brings many dealers under one roof for buyers to select best deals. It is no different like other websites in the US, cars.com, autotrader.com which brings many dealers under one roof. Even on the best sites you will always find one bad dealer, and some crooks out there to get you. Word of cauction! Do your homework before you shop. Buyers shop at tradecarview because they are looking for cheaper deals. The sellers mainly list themselves as exporters, and majority do not sell the cars locally. If you want a great used car from Japan with guarantee on condition, the best place to shop is directly from the local used car dealers, ( mainly not listed in tradecarview and in most case they 100% Japanese speaking dealership, no foreign language!, Plus the cars are more expensive doh!). Having said that, I think tradecarview is a great site, that tries to bring different dealer under one roof and the buyers and compare prices and avoid being ripped off. Tradecarview recently opened regional offices overseas. They can only do this because they have a big and growing customer base.
I hope my comments here shines light to those who wrote negative reviews earlier.
