Sent them a working phone, they responded saying it was beyond repair and wouldn't give me anything for it, when I asked to return it, they wanted me to pay about £20 to have it returned!!! I refused to pay that much to have MY phone returned, (I did offer to pay postage) I still haven't had it back or had any money!! DO NOT USE THIS SITE..... I had a brilliant service from environfone with another non working phone so will in future stick to them!

Denise G. I too sent them a working phone with charger and was promised £30 for my Nokia 6500. Sent it on the 9/06/2010 with proof of posting. I received an email on the 11/06/2010 from Sellolphone.co.uk to say they had received my phone and would process my payment in the next seven days. I did not read the reviews and only now wish I had!! I have since sent them an email to advise them that I have contacted Trading Standards and Watch dog. I also advised them that I would be contacting the Police as I considered this to be a criminal matter. I informed Sellooldphone that they were in breach of their contract and gave them 14 days to either return my phone or send me the cheque for £30. I actually received a response by email to inform me that my cheque was being released for payment to me. Dont hold your breath!! I would advise anyone who is having problems with this company to do the same as I did and not allow these cowboys phone companies to rip us off!

I sent them my phone which they promised me 15.25 for but they've have had it 3 weeks now and they say on their site that they send you the money in days but still no money they are supposed to send me a cheque. When i email them about it they either don't reply or just send a email not explaining anything. I'd never use this site again, they have my phone but i have no money from them !

After 6 weeks my payment has still not been received. Now they want to charge me £10 to reissue the cheque but can't provide me with any evidence that they ever posted it in the frist place. AVOID THIS SITE.

This site had my phone for about 3 weeks and I tried to contact them by phone and email to ask where my money was but never got a reply or answer. in the end they then me a cheque for £20 when I was promised £29 saying that it was worn! They say the gradings are on their website (burried deep in the small print). My addvise is use mazumamobile.com - their site didn't offer the best price but when I sent them my last phone they paid promptly and as promised. Will never use selloldphone.co.uk ever again!

louise c. block the phones they are useless to them then if they arent going to pay for them why profit from them.i blocked my phone i got payment after 3 to 4 week and it was 15 pound less than agreed i cashed the cheque messaged them and told them i had blocked the phone and i wouldnt unblock it until they sent me the 15 pound for the charger they are saying i didnt send .they never sent me the 15 pound and i never unblocked the phone either so i think i got one over on them scamming twats

My nephew was caught with this site. He has learning difficulties and thought he could get money back on his old phone so posted it off to them. This phone was working perfectly and had everything with it including the original box. They e mailed back to say it was water damaged and they did not want it but would recycle it free of charge. When he asked for the phone back as they had said they would give him £21 for it then they told him he had to pay an administration charge of £20 if he wanted it returned. What a scam. I also am reporting this to watchdog and trading standards. This company is fraudulent and should be stopped from trading.

I recently sent my samsung u900 soul to selloldphone.co.uk, they offered me £28.10 for the phone. But when the cheque arrived it was for £5.00 and the letter said that the phone was water damaged. THIS IS A LIE!!!!! I WAS USING THAT PHONE JUST A FEW DAYS BEFORE. THE ONLY REASON I SENT IT WAS BECAUSE I HAD MY YEARLY UPGRADE FROM MY PHONE PROVIDER.
I SENT THE PHONE IN A WATERPROOF ENVELOPE AND THEN PLACED THE ENVELOPE INTO A BOX, SO THERE IS NO WAY THAT IT COULD HAVE BEEN WATER DAMAGED IN TRANSIT!!! THEY ARE CON ARTISTS!!!! I HAVE CONTACTED WATCHDOG ABOUT THIS COMPANY! I AM SOOOO ANGRY!!!

WE NEED TO WORK TOGETHER TO GET JUSTICE. GO ONTO THE WATCHDOG WEBSITE AND WRITE YOUR STORY!!! THE MORE OF US THAT WRITE THE MORE LIKELY OUR VOICES WILL BE HEARD!!!

Hi My nam e is Denise Genua and like you I sent my Nokia 6500 of to Selloldphone.co.uk via the post office with proof of posting on the 9/06/2010 received an email on the 11/06/2010 saying they had received my phone and would process my payment in the next seven days.I have been chasing them for the payment of my phone by email have finally received a response today. that was after I advised them that I had reported them to Trading Standards and Watchdog. I advised Selloldphone that they were in breach of their contract and gave them 14 days to respond. I will be putting this in writing and forwarding my letter by recorded delivery as advised by Trading Standards. I hate being ripped off!! If I do not received my cheque then I will being taking this to the police as I consider this to be a criminal matter. Best wishes Denise Genua

louise c. i got my money after about 3 weeks reported them to trading standards and local police up there and was told they was been investigated i blocked my phone with network .when i recieved a cheque from them it was about 15 pound less than agreed they told me this was because i didnt include charger which i did scammers all the way i sent an email stating that id blocked the phone tp protect myself and if they wasnt going to pay then i would make sure they didnt profit from my phone.once i recieved payment and it was less than agreed i messaged them again and told them i would not unblock the phone till they gave me the extra 15 which was agreed .they still denied recieving the charger so never gave me the 15 pound they knocked off and i never unblocked the phone block your phone and then its worthless to them .

Yeah, I wish I'd read the reviews on here too. I sent off 3 old nokia mobiles in perfect working condition. I included the chargers for each phone. They offered me £84 online, but then sent me a cheque for £64???? The reason being because one phone had slight fascia wear & tear (ok, fair enough) and the other reason being 'there were no chargers included'! They were in the same package as the handsets!!! Do they think I'm stupid or something?? Greener Tomorrow House is @ 9 Berkeley Close, NE35 9LQ. Take a look on Google street view and you'll see where all the money goes. Incredible......

these guys are pure scammers stay well clear they don.t pay what was promised always telling people that the phone was in poor condition etc if you send a phone to selloldphone then you are a fool! you have been warned!!!!!!!!

stefan j. our doughter had a phone and she went to mazuma they paid within 2 days my wife sent off a iphone to mazuma she told them the wrong GB they email to say the phone wasn.t a 16GB but a 8GB so the price changed my wife asked for the phone back and they sent it no problems no admin charges etc. selloldphone are pure out and out thiefs to say the least!

DO NOT USE - SCAM ARTISTS!

I sent them my Sony Ericcson at the end of January, stupidly because they offered £5 more for it than other sites. After waiting for six weeks and my Order Status not changing, I emailed them to ask what was happening. In fact, they didn't reply to my first email but replied very quickly when I emailed a second time threatening to contact Watchdog and Trading Standards! They claimed that they'd never received my phone, but told me that as it was sent using their Freepost service I could contact Royal Mail who apparently track all Freepost packages and refund me the cost of the lost phone. Two emails and several attempts to contact Royal Mail later, I discovered that the info SellOldPhone gave me was cr*p...in fact, they are just billed monthly for their total Freepost costs, and as they are the 'customer' with this service, THEY are the only ones who can claim for lost parcels. Several emails later explaining this during which they still maintained I had to claim to Royal Mail, and now they say (eventually, are several chase emails) that their Terms & Conditions state that it's my responsibility to ensure the phone arrives with them safely. As the phone was only worth £35 to them and I've NEVER had any problems using online recycling companies before (namely Mopay.co.uk), I'd trusted SellOldPhone would be ok, but in future I will definitely use Mopay.

Stay away from SellOldPhone. Please!

Do not use them, I wish I'd checked this website before I sent my LG Viewty off (for the promised price of £29) and received a cheque 3 weeks later (not '7 days guarunteed' as stated) for £17 because the 'charger and stylus' was not included. I did check the terms and conditions, and in there deeply it does mention this, but surely this should be stated on the order form?
If the order form states "£29 for an LG viewty" with no mention of charger or stylus, then this is what I should receive. I keep emailing them, I'm not going to give in (neither should anyone else).

There is now a number on the website - 01915362375. They never pick up, but if anything will annoy them.

I also think everyone should report this website through http://www.ripofftipoff.net/notify.htm as this has upset so many people. (if we all do this, there should be more chance of something being done).

T N. did you get any kind of confirmation as to what they'd pay you also? if you have enough evidence, i guess you could take it to court but i'm not sure if that would cost more for you. it's tricky because you don't have a credit card company that can help back you up (for example, if you buy from a fraudulent business)...i guess that's why these people go into these businesses where it's harder to get caught...

angela w. hi,yes ive got an email saying they were going to pay me £78 for the phone.I sent the phone and charger recorded delivery, and have kept the receipt ... T Mobile sent me the phone as an upgrade last October, so they have been able to blacklist the phone for me and report it stolen. I know if I take them to the small claims court I will have to pay a fee, but why should they just get away with stealing peoples phones ? Im soo angry ! I know some people have lost more than me, and this just has to stop !

GUYS! LISTEN UP!!!!

We really need to come together and make a group complaint, perhaps even file a class action lawsuit against them for gross breach of contract and improper conduct! We really need to make our voices heard! I am still waiting for a £200 cheque, 3 months later.... It sounds like everyone has lost, even just marginally, and we deserve to recoup our money!
