I can't say something bad about the ebay because back in the day it was a pioneer marketplace for e-commerce business. Many people in the beginning of 00's started their business from the ebay reselling different stuff, exchanging products or just bargaining with people. I'm thankful to them that I was one of those who started business on this platform, cuz it has taught me many valuable lessons. By the way, if you want to obtain some stuff you can also visit it as a customer, prices are affordable.

My recent experience with eBay left me utterly disappointed. Despite promises of timely delivery, my package seems to have taken a detour through the Bermuda Triangle. Tracking updates were non-existent, and contacting customer support felt like talking to a brick wall. EBay needs to seriously improve its shipping and handling processes if it wants to retain customers.

I recently sold my brand new audio interface on eBay for cheaper than it was worth because I needed money, the buyer received the item and didn't say anything else for a week. After that, he complained to eBay that the item he received had a dent on the corner (impossible, never was used or even came out of the box, regardless wasnt affecting how the interface operated), eBay immediately took his side and charged my bank account without my permission to refund him. On top of that they let him keep the interface so basically eBay made me give away my 400$ interface for free while they kept their percentage and when I called customer service they told me to go kick rocks. Worst experience with selling anything and I can't believe people use this app. Will never return no matter what. Worst app in history for a billion reasons.

Tip for consumers:
Avoid this site and app at all costs if you want to actually make money off your items and have a site that cares about the buyer.

So theirs days are numbered. You can't make money on eBay as a regular seller.
They'll restrict your sales then charge you a below standard fee which makes it over 20 percent the gross cost then they ad sales tax to that which makes it even more. You still got to pay shipping at post office. You then got to worry the person you sold to ain't a scammer and opens bs claim.
It's literally 50 percent when done and thats not considering cost of item sold.
Theirs no protection or care from support
The casinos have better odds to make money no joke

Ebay ALWAYS refunds buyers even if obvious scam! I sent a pristine, brand new designer handbag on 1.12.23 via Royal Mail Special Delivery costing £8.15. I listed NO RETURNS NO REFUNDS but scam buyer said "handle too short" and I received bag back 20.12.23. It had obviously been used all that time and is now spoilt. I lost other interested genuine buyers. Ebay has now refunded scam buyer in full but no postage refund for me, the seller. Really fed up with Ebay!

I've just left Ebay after two buyers claimed refund for non delivery. This is a scam and I'm owed £356.92 which Ebay have done nothing to help me. There are other sites so I will try there. EBay has got too big and should change its rules.Update, I did eventually get refunded £356.92 by Ebay after I contacted Financial Ombudsman and appealed against original decision, but it took over 3 months of stress. I decided not to sell to America again and wrote to Commercial Attache at Embassy of United States of America, Nine Elms too!

Tip for consumers:
Avoid Ebay if you want to avoid fraudulent buyers and lose your valuable goods and not get paid

Ebay used to be a fun site for me to find unique items. Now it's become a nightmare as hell where in the two times I've attempted to make returns recently their return protocol leaves you locked out and they tell you they send you return labels when they don't, they make it a epically frustrating and impossible to get through to anyone. I am left with a damaged item and no way to actually return it.

Ebay used to be great. I remember you could sell and buy just about anything. Customer service did exist in those old days and they did care. Now is non existent and if you happen to get someone they are clearly at the other end of the world. Most of them are poorly trained and don't know anything. Some of them will hang up on you. And then there is the bogus that you are a treat to the platform but they will never explain what it means because it's a lie. Horrible place. Spend your money somewhere else.

After making my first successful sale on eBay my account was permanently suspended with no reason given. When I spoke to a customer service representative I was told that they couldn't give me a reason because then people would know how they choose to suspend accounts. So essentially they banned me so they could keep the money for an item that was already in the customer's hands with no complaints or complications on their end.

I sold a bag on eBay. The customer filed a dispute. Reason:
"The item doesn't match the description in your listing"
In the comments the customer wrote:
"My daughter ordered a gift for me and she mistakenly bought the wrong item. I want to return the item. I want my money back."
Customer is refusing to return the bag and eBay claims that seller protection does not apply in "item doesn't match the description" cases even though eBay knows that "item doesn't match the description" is a false claim.

Tip for consumers:
eBay seller protection is a fiction. Any fraudulent customer could steal your money and eBay always sides with the customer.

Terrible customer service. I ordered an item for over $60 which weighs 4.35 pounds. They shipped an 8 ounce item to a different address (not mine). When I tried to get a refund, they said that since the item was delivered, they would not offer any refund, even though I never received ANYTHING and whomever got "A" package, it clearly wasn't my item. Never again!

Tip for consumers:
Avoid Ebay seller basaha-6. They are a scam and refused to refund my money after sending a package to the wrong address.

I regret to say that my selling experience on eBay was extremely disappointing. My journey as a seller was plagued by a series of frustrating issues. Firstly, my digital items, once sold, vanished without a trace, leaving me in a bind. Additionally, my funds were put on hold, creating financial inconvenience.

A major concern was the lack of seller protection from eBay. My account was restricted without any prior notice, which felt unfair and abrupt. When I reached out to customer service for assistance, the experience worsened. The customer service representatives were not only rude but also disrespectful, lacking basic courtesy and professionalism.

Despite providing ample evidence, including invoices and buyers' messages to support my case, the response was baffling. The customer support team repeatedly asked for a tracking number for my digital items, which was an absurd request considering the nature of the products. I had to explain multiple times that the items I sold were digital and shared the digital products through ebay messaging system, but it seemed like my words fell on deaf ears. Instead of receiving help from the support team, they were not able to answer my questions, and left me dealing with harsh accusations of having sold used digital items.

This experience has left me disillusioned with eBay. The platform appears to be riddled with scammers, and, unfortunately, sellers like myself receive little to no support from eBay in resolving issues. My advice to any potential seller is to steer clear of eBay. There are better, more seller-friendly platforms out there that offer the support and protection that eBay sorely lacks.

Listed an item for sale, and in bold writing stated that anyone bidding must have a positive feedback score. A scammer with zero feedback bid on my item and I cancelled his bid. Ebay charged me $153.21 saying I shouldn't have cancelled his bid. UNBELIEVABLE. Anyone doing business with Ebay at this point is an absolute fool. 11k one star reviews don't lie.

A company that does not care about customer service!
I have been using eBay for years as a seller and buyer, and although, realising some poor customer service, here and there...I continued. What was the final straw for me? I recently changed my email address (starting afresh), and with this, I opened a brand new account with eBay linking my personal PayPal for purchases. Literally 5 minutes after my first purchase, my account was suspended and blocked. I contacted customer service to guide/assist me with reinstating my account... here's the response?

Ebay:
1) What are the items that you are planning to purchase on the site? 2) What would be the mode of payment for your purchased items?
This restriction is permanent. You will not be able to participate in any buying or selling activities on eBay. In addition, any other accounts that you own, or that are associated with this account, will also be restricted.
I'm really sorry but we will have to refrain from sharing the exact reason why we have to suspend this account because it will mean that we will have to disclose our internal procedure to detect risks with the account. I would request you to avoid using eBay for your trading needs.
It seems like we have no other concern concerns right now to be addressed, so I would need to close the chat right now Else, You can do let me know if there is anything else other than this?

Tip for consumers:
Don't expect much help from customer service if you're experiencing an issue

For some crazy reason I went and signed up to eBay plus, extra money for Nothing, it's a total scam!

I purchased 3 items from eBay, some 6 weeks later I only have one of the items, the other 2 are still showing the original location and a date of early December. I contacted this totally useless eBay to find out what is going on, Zero help, just some rude lady telling me my parcel is showing delivered by the 19th January, almost 2 months later, She said this is normal and acceptable, for who, obviously eBay not the stupid buyers….

There is obviously an issue but eBay does their usual BS ploy of Noting, they know you just give up trying with them, it's a win win for them.

EBay is an old outdated business that now survives from all the business that rob and steal who are not allowed to sell on Amazon.They exploit our laws with their Big Business powers….

You are crazy if you risk buying from this platform, it's too risky and you have no way of getting any after sales service if something goes wrong, avoid them and stick with the store or Amazon…

If you buy an item from eBay, you have to remember that most reviews are filtered by eBay and negative reviews tend not to be shown. I ordered an item from eBay. It was missed delivered. I ended up losing the full amount of my purchase. I left a negative review eBay filtered the review, so it didn't show. So what good is a review to accompany when they only post the positive reviews and hide the negative from a consumer

I ordered a Christmas wreath with the understanding it would be delivered on time. I should've realized when the seller would not provide the shipping information. Something was wrong when it was missed delivered I had no recourse I contacted eBay, but they denied a refund. I am very hesitant to do anything further with eBay.

Robots from Hell. Used to be able to get an agent. Not anymore. The bot just says Email and then won't let you type anymore. I have been on Ebay for 20 d*mn years as a seller and a buyer. So, if you need help with something important, forget it.

I sold a item on eBay they took my money from customer and refunded him even after item showed delivered by tracking will not pay me for it keep telling me lies for months I'm sueing anyone else who has delt with this please reach out so we all can sue them they are allowing us to be stole from and not backing there safe seller and buyer guarantees

I used to order things from Amazon and got used to excellent customer services especially when I need to return things.
But folks, be careful with eBay! There is no live person to talk to you no matter which way you try. EBay uses an artificial agent to chat with you while those "agent" never understands what the issues are. They only give a link where your issues definitely are not listed.
And to return a merchandise, you need to pay for the return fee.
Be alert! Never buy anything that is more than, say, $5 so that you are ready to waste the money.

Stay away from eBay.

I really don't know why people sell on ebay. Ebay does NOTHING to protect sellers. I have had 5 orders go missing from usps and I had to refund these orders out of pocket for something that is out of my control. Ebay takes a cut of the profits but provides nothing in return. Every other company protects its sellers in case usps loses a package, but not Ebay. Time to stop selling through eBay since they will throw you under the bus each and every time.

EBay es malísimo para ayudar a encontrar paquetes perdidos, el cliente tiene que hacer el trabajo por eBay, en mi caso tuve que ir al correo y contactar al cliente y buscar el paquete en el vecindario que es lo que el vende te dise hacer y después de todo eBay dise que el caso está cerrado debido que el vendedor otorgó un número de rastreo y tengo que apelar para que el se al cliente pueda ayudarme

I purchased a tricycle from a seller, Freedomstore 18, in China in March of 2023. After assembling the tricycle, I could not adjust the rear derailleur to get all seven gears. I contacted the seller and sent them pictures of the defect (gears not pressed far enough on the axle.) They replied twice, but it was obvious they did not understand English. Then they stopped replying to my emails. I had purchased a protection plan from Allstate. When I contacted them, they told me to contact the seller since there was a one-year warranty (I don't know where they got that information because there is no warranty stated on my order, receipt or manual). So I tried to get to Ebay customer service. After several attempts I managed to get someone to call me. They told me that someone would get back to me in three days. It has been 3 weeks and not response. I tried to get to someone through the automated chat, but none of the categories fit my problem. It's been 11 months and I still can't get a resolution.

Tip for consumers:
Once the return window has passed, contacting Ebay customer service is almost impossible.

I bought a $425 item from eBay and the delivery guy left it outside without knocking on the door. By the time I went to check for it, it wasn't there. I contacted eBay and they never refunded me. I contacted them for 2 weeks straight and they never did anything about it. Horrible customer service. I will never buy from eBay again and I recommend that everyone stays away from eBay.

They keep your bank information I won't let you delete it. Charging you account with reason when ever the want. If you want to stop this you are forced to close your back account as a suggestion from them. Or pay $34 to you bank for a stop payment. This is not right and no one is doing nothing about it. They have try to charge my bank account 3 times. When you are on a fixed income and disabled big companies like eBay take advantage of you. You have to jump a million hoops to fix a problem. But they could just press a button and become rich.

Contacted eBay about my issue 3 weeks 1 day later still no response very poor way to do business from a multi billion dollar company looks like I'll be contacting the better business bureau if they don't get this handled shortly
