This is a lovely series full of excitement and emotion and romance. I have enjoyed each part of it. Kennedy is your typical macho hero and he did irritate me a bit I have to admit. It's really hard for females in professions that have always been thought of as only for men. I am not sure when, or if that will ever change.

Loved this book!
October 25, 2022

I highly recommend this book. It is a vampire romance set in 1970. The author takes us into a Celtic mythological history of how vampires came into existence by interweaving it with friends to lovers, a vampire brotherhood, murder, plot twists, characters you will love and plenty of spice with a little humour along the way. I loved Leigh and Michael's story. I can't wait for the next book.
I received and advanced reader copy of this book and am voluntarily giving my review of this book.

ARG
Not enough adjectives to describe how much I enjoyed Sawbones 3. History, description of beautiful scenery and a loving family leading a normal family life. Or not so normal. Lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing and on your toes. I took my time reading the last few chapters. Just didn't want the story to end.

From an author's POV
December 23, 2019

For starters, many idiotic reviews on here are for books, not the company, bookbub. Most ebooks are trash, which is why they sell them to suckers for cheap or free. Sometimes they are marginally good, and free only to get you to read the other author's books.
The great authors spend years researching their books, months of editing, formatting, and reviewing their book. As a reward, bookbub expects the author's hard work to be given away free or cheap. Anything for free does not have value.
In addition, the ebook retailers take the hard work of the author's reviewing and formatting their book into perfection and trash it all, cramming spacing together into a non-stop robotic reading. In other words, you get what you pay for.

Honesty is the Best Policy
December 6, 2022

Beau and Becca have been frIenenemies since age ten. They've been neighbors and each other's sounding boards since that time. They've always been painfully honest with each other. Until, as adults, they realize they are more than honesty advisors to each other. They realize they're physically and emotionally attracted. But Beau finds he is cynical about their connection, he is afraid he's not good enough for her. That she'll leave him for bigger and better things. She's been off to college while he started his own custom woodworking business. Now they must find out if they can overcome their years of bickering, insecurity and brutal honesty. Can they learn to use their honesty for good, for their community and for each other? And, also, thank god for the brilliant advice and wisdom of Ellie Landry.

I have a Nook reader and have used this site extensively. The books offered are older books but if I have not read an offered book, who cares. When I find a book that I want, I can go directly to Barnes & Noble and make my purchase. The prices are great and the download is fast, Who could ask for more.

Bookbub claims to have huge exposure for advertising and to provide a great return for authors, if they will invest in and are approved for their platform. We have found that their advertising is overpriced and that the exposure is not as great as Bookbub claims. Very minimal return for the investment. Considering the large numbers of consumer readers that Bookbub claims (in excess of 800,000) to give authors access to, the return on advertising investment should be exponentially greater. Advertiser beware, as there are much better platforms for advertising that will offer much greater return. Unless Bookbub makes drastic changes, and is more honest with their advertising reach, they will continue to lose readership and clout. Things are definitely not as they appear in the world of Bookbub advertising.

As an author of forty years (trad, small press and indie, and ironically with the nickname Bub!) I think they're just a money-grabbing faceless corporation. I would like to know why I've always been knocked back by them and the last submission I made I temporarily lost my head when considering paying them to advertise a book I made free just for the purpose! This has to be total madness. Perhaps I've dodged a bullet. OK, it was a bit more affordable trying the international route (UK and Canada) and they won't accept everybody but to add insult to injury they cba communicating. A good company will communicate and seek to reach out to the customers it makes money from. Boycott them, authors and readers alike. They only care about exploiting authors. Look for your offers elsewhere. There are plenty of other decent and less exploitative sites out there.

I can't stop buying books through BookBub! I have bought countless great books at very low prices - and many for free. Most of them are anywhere from a year to 15 years old and have been on Best Seller Lists. I have had many hours of good reading. Thank you, BookBub! You can choose the type of books you would like to read and they will offer only the kinds that you have listed. My favorites are Mysteries, Cozies, Crime Fiction, and Women's Fiction. I also like Series (especially Engish Mysteries) Books where one can really get to know the main characters. There is no obligation to buy anything and no fees.

What a wonderfully written, intricately woven love story, that tackles the cold hard reality that is addiction. It cleverly shows how addiction transcends class, social status and many situations in life. Along with how it can ruin people, or how people can rise above it.

All the Winning Numbers is the fourth in a series of works penned by David B. Smith. The work follows Rachel Marie, the books main character, through a series of significant road bumps in her life. She experiences personal sorrow, a moral dilemma as well as issues related to health. The book is written from a Christian perspective, and the author has the ability to wrap one story line upon another, keeping the reader anxiously anticipating the outcome of each story. Once I got started reading the book, I literally could not put it down. I highly recommend this book as a pleasant read while still dealing with significant issues of life.

Lots of cheap and even free light reading... mostly fiction with a few autobiographies & "how I became a better person" book. But very few books of substance, and very few with excellent writing. Many of the books would benefit from good editing (some have not had basic proofreading or consistency checking).

There are occasional bargains from experienced skilled authors, and certainly a few well written entertaining new works, but these are the exception. I find too many of these books not worth finishing, and am taking a break from Bookbub to seek out better reading material.

Two years ago I ran an ad for one of my novels on BookBub. I set a budged of $5/day and it ran with no problems. So on June 15 of this year I decided to create a second ad for my recently released novel. I set an ad budget of $10/day.

But within a day or so I received charges from BookBub of $750, (since increased to $760), which had been automatically charged to my PayPal account. I immediately checked the data for the ad and found that my budget of $10/day had been increased to an insane $10,000/day.

I contacted BookBub about the error. Their response was, since 'I' had set the budget at $10,000/day, I was stuck with the charges and they were not going to do anything about it, nor refund any of the charges.

I don't know how my budget got changed, only that I did not do it. I can only conclude that there is a problem in BookBub's ad-creation program which they refuse to acknowledge.

Needless to say, I will not be using BookBub to run ads on. (On a side note, I got exactly one sale for my $760. I did much better with a one-week ad on Facebook for a tenth of the cost.)

Not a healthy site

Heavy focus on books that are unhealthy for family life. Looked around for a while but it is not the focus I am interested in, nor recommend to anyone else who is interested in healthy relationships.

Honesty?
March 26, 2016

Through iTunes I ordered books for 0,99. Hence my surprise when my credicard showed an amount of 3,99! When I filed a complaint with iTunes they asked me to prove that the book indeed did cost 0,99 and not 3.99. This looks like a way to enrich themselves!

Overview

The company enjoys a mixed reputation among customers, with many praising its extensive selection of affordable e-books and the convenience of daily offers. Positive sentiments highlight the enjoyable reading experiences and the variety of genres available. However, concerns are prevalent regarding the effectiveness of their advertising services for authors, with complaints about high costs and minimal returns on investment. Additionally, some users express frustration over customer service responsiveness and issues with pricing discrepancies. Overall, while the platform is appreciated for its book offerings, improvements in transparency and support for authors could enhance its reputation.
