@AirCanada, you ruined my wife's VERY EXPENSIVE birthday trip and I'm DONE being ignored! 😡 Denied COVID tests, lost luggage, forced us on a delayed flight that messed up our ENTIRE vacation, downgraded our PREMIUM seats (that we paid $500 for!), and now OVER 3 YEARS of silence! This is how you treat customers? Help me get their attention! #aircanada #nightmare #lostluggage #badcustomerservice #travelhorror #consumerrights #refund
Air Canada advised that the flights might be canceled starting Sunday September 15th. They offerred no fee flight change. We had Premium Economy on Sunday flight. But when we tried to switch to Saturday, they offered us Economy seats instead of Premium Economy for much higher price so we actually had to pay more money for Economy seats. We asked why, so the agent said that they increased the price due to people changing the flights because of the potential strike. Supply and demand. So this whole no fee exchange is one big scam. The change fee cost much less. So they gave us free exchange but charged us so much more for downgraded seats. Worst airline ever.
Had an 8 o'clock direct flight from Miami to Montreal. The flight was first delayed by 8 hours then cancelled completely. They switched us for a flight with a layover in Toronto. From then on they gave us vouchers for food at Miami, but no restaurants would accept them because AirCanada was not paying the restaurants afterward. The flight from Miami to Toronto was on time, but the flight from Toronto to Montreal was delayed AGAIN. I'm currently writing this review while waiting for my plane. I have been in airports for 15 hours for a 3.5 hour direct flight I paid.
I purchased Hopper on air canadas web site but they didn't pay the full price of the fare when I cancelled
I was really mad about the crew at Laguardia aiport on a flight to Quebec With a stopover for 4 or 5 hours in Montréal that doesn't let me take my carry on bag in the cabine they said there was no more space but they let some passenger get in the plane with more than 1 carry on bag and they let some of them put some kind of bag that can go under their seat it was really unappreciate the way she took the bag on my hands. Full flight or not every passenger must have their carry on bag with them if it's fit in the sizer and it's only one bag by passenger not 2 and the chance to get your carry on bag with you is not suppose to base on if you are on zone 1 2 3 or 4 5
Never ever do any business with air canda
February 2023
I just find out who has my money which is don't use my money not worth you a penny or air canada I will never use your service again and never recommend to anyone your company loose my business forever even I loose my money here never again any business with you again its March 2022
Remarkably poor customer service... Our initial flight was delayed out of Boston for a "safety" reason, what I have gathered is that this is what they tell you so that it can not be their fault. We landed in Montreal and when we got off the plane, were handed ticket changes to give us a 3 hour delay in Montreal, send us to Portugal and give us another layover there before heading to Milan (adding roughly 7 hours to our travel and making us miss everything we had planned and already paid for in Milan). We got to the gate of our initial flight on time and tried to get our seats, but they had been sold to someone else as we were removed from the flight. We waited for the new connection and got to Portugal. In Portugal we were told by Air Canada that we could not get on the flight as we did not have boarding passes and they could not give us boarding passes because we had not paid for our baggage. I showed them the receipts and was told that there was nothing they could do and they could not even open it up for us to pay a second time. The Air Canada people had me take all of our passports and go out through the exit, find the check in area for Air Canada and get help there since we were short on time as it took an hour just to get this far in trying to get our boarding passes. I ran the 20 minutes to get to check in only to be told that they could also not help me and it was not their problem so I needed to call Air Canada, they did not give me a number or anything just told me it was not their problem and that I needed to call and was pushed aside for the next person. I called the number I found online, only to be told that there was nothing they could do either. So here I am, stuck outside of security with no boarding passes to get back to my family and my family's passports. I was so frustrated that I cried. Finally some nice lady with a different airline helped me and took maybe 10 minutes to fix the issue and get me my boarding passes. By this time I had 40 minutes to get through security and to the gate. We made it, 0 thanks to Air Canada who was apparently content to leave us stranded in a country we shouldn't have been in to begin with as we made it to the gate of our initial connection to begin with.
When I complained to Air Canada, explaining that we do not travel often (this was 4 years of saving) and just asked for the money back from what I had prepaid and missed, they told me that it was not their problem or responsibility but here is a $200 Air Canada voucher that you will never use. Their response to my rebuttal asking that they make this right and just refund me the roughly $500 in missed activities as they mishandled our flight from beginning to end, they told me "While I am sorry and understand your disappointment with our decision, our response is in line with the Air Passenger Protection Regulations. Although this may not be the answer you are looking for, I thank you for your understanding and appreciate this final opportunity to reply to your concerns." AKA it's okay for us to re-route you, make you miss everything you had planned, and not even bother to make sure you could get on the extra 7 hours of travel we put you on.
My experience with Air Canada was nothing short of a complete disaster. I wouldn't wish this airline on my worst enemy. To start, our departure was delayed by a mind-boggling two hours, and the reason? Apparently, the gate wasn't even available. So there we sat, like cattle, twiddling our thumbs, and wondering if this was some kind of cruel joke.
But oh, the delays didn't stop there. No, they continued throughout the flight. It was as if Air Canada had a personal vendetta against punctuality. The flight attendants must have thought they were on vacation too, as they seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than addressing the frustrated passengers.
I'd like to say that the in-flight experience made up for it, but that would be a lie. The seats were about as comfortable as a park bench, and the in-flight entertainment was laughable at best. It's safe to say that my next flight won't be booked with Air Canada. If you value your time and sanity, steer clear of this airline.
My wife and I were coming back from Frankfurt to Calgary, on Tuesday October 10,2023, flight number AC849 with Air Canada. As soon as we are seating in our very small seats in Economy class they announced on the speakers that there was not going to be any entertainment in the whole trip because a computer malfunction. It was a 10 hours and 15 minutes fly without having the possibility to watch a movie or a TV show or any type of the entertainment. On top of that the food was horrible and even the red wine they offered couldn't be drunk because probably was left on the sun or close to a heat source and it was horrible, although the bottle said it was from France.
As we arrived to the gate in Calgary a Flight Attendant again apologized for the lack of entertainment system and he said that Air Canada would provide compensation to the passengers. And so far we heard nothing.
As a Canadian I feel ashamed of our only Canadian airline. I still remember the old Canadian Pacific being one of the best airlines companies in the World. I wouldn't recommend Air Canada to any of my friends.
NEVER EVER EVER EVER AGAIN WILL I BOARD THIS AIRLINE!\
HORRIBLE crappy evey minute of the flight was not worth 3000,00 dollarsr
This is the worst airline. They changed our seats premium to regular, the reason is few first class seats changed. I spent money to buy unhappy seats. I will not book any flights for Air Canada after this trip.
Very unhelpful and condescending to your questions. Do not ever book with them. Do not answer your specific questions
I was supposed to be flying from Austin to Toronto. To St. John's to be able to attend my grandmother's funeral. My flight was delayed five times before finally being canceled. I had 3 separate calls with air Canada. One in which I was hung up on the second in which I was told to keep waiting for my flight but my connection flight was moved to the next day. And then the final one where the agent was very rude. And did not want to get me on a new flight? Until I asked for a supervisor.
I was told to request compensation buy air Canada. And was denied within twenty four hours of my request.
Don't trust anything Air Canada writes. Got told at the airport that my flight was cancelled. No prior email, app update or text. We ended up at Toronto airport, where they ran out of coupons for the Hotel. Crying staff told us to e-mail receipts, which was a scam because we still haven't been reimbursed. We arrived more than 10 hours late, spent hours on the phone, more emails and Air Canada saying that they we weren't late and didn't deserve a refund because the end flight they had to put us on after cancelling the original flight was not delayed despite us arriving more than 10 hours late. Scam. Liars. The service desk did everything not to help people. Our flight did not get cancelled because of the weather but due to them. Thieves. Saw families who paid rediculous amounts of money having to camp it out at the airport with young children. Even heard about lost kids car seats.
Was looking forward to flying Air Canada but was very disappointed. Seats worn and hard, food very average and service - only one flight attendant seemed like she wanted to be there. Meal choices - with 15 passengers still to ask they had already run out of the lamb choice. Asking for a snack or drink seemed too much trouble for them and tool ages. Only good thing was that it was mostly on time
When I tried to check in for my flight online, I found Air Canada completely changed the details of my flight, and didn't even bother to notify me. The new flight that was forced on me was so bad, that there was no way I could just accept it. After a long wait on the line, the airline representative (who didn't even offer an apology, let alone a compensation), said the only thing he could do was to rebook the flight to a later date, or give me a refund. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, he said there were no supervisors. Seriously? In any case, I had no choice but to rebook the flight, with all the inconveniences attached to it. Then, for dessert, the rude representative just hung up on me mid-call, so I had to call back and wait forever again just to verify that the details of the new flight were indeed finalized. The representative who answered my second call was just as rude and impatient as the first one, if not more, but at least I got to verify the details of my new flight. Terrible customer service, unreliable airline company.
On my return flight home from Paris I had a connection in Toronto on July 1st. Who knew it was a Canadian Holiday and they were short staffed. So, what do you know my family and I were stranded in Canada. We were all instructed to get a Hotel and that Air Canada would reimburse us $300 for a room. She even gave us all a contact business card to use for the claim. So we found a room for $380 for the night, Air Canada refused to give us our luggage which was in Terminal 1. Apple air tags allowed us to keep track of our bags.
So staying in our same clothes for technically 2 days because we left from Paris, our flight home was rerouted through LaGuardia in NYC to get to Cleveland. So after 2 delays in Toronto in our second attempt to get home caused us to missed our connecting flight in LaGuardia. By the grace of God we got home through stand-by, however luggage arrived at our house on July 4th at 9:30 at night.
It was still in Canada on July 3rd.
We were lied to by the service agent.
I went through the online refund process. They are trying to cheat me and state it was out of their control. It's pretty interesting; I have have their text indicating it was cancelled due to no crew. The agent also said they had no staff. Please boycott this airline. Please avoid this airline. They are not honoring the International Traveler Law.
Flew Calgary - Los Angeles flight, horrible customer service from employee name Smita at Calgary airport. Request her to not mix travel documents of different group members as there was 1 ticket for entire group. She yelled and threw all travel documents, told me to not teach her how to do her job.
There were four of the s flying together and all luggage was received but me piece. After hours n hold, finally got to speak to a customer service rep who only had a written scriotbn front of them and could not deviate from that script. Finally, they said that they were in a call center in India and could not really help. They just take the information and Air Canada May respond within 45 days. We took a trip overseas and was moving hotels every two or three days. The airline has never called us back or responded. We did learn that the luggage was found then lost. Luggage tags on the outside with address, phone number and email. Also, special fabric on the handiest. A copy of the passport is inside the luggage. No response yet and no luggage. It has been almost two weeks. I will never fly Air Canada. Terrible service and absolutely no customer service. We had been planning this trip for almost a year and to be treated like this is awful'. Please read reviews and I suggest flying other airlines and flying Air Canada as a last resort! Heart breaking and no one at Air Canada that can help. I wasted my money and it almost ruined our trip. We had to buy everything again the first couple of days and did not enjoy the first part of our trip! Aur Cabada is the WORST airline I have ever flown with and would not recommend them.
Thank you!
NEVER FLY CANADA AIR. My family and I vacationed in Italy and had flights booked home (New Jersey) for Sunday July 2nd. One flight (rome to Canada 9hr flight) and a connecting flight (Canada to Newark 1 and a half hr flight). We finished our first flight that was 9hr long and as we got off we were herded to a line just for connecting flights, then another line for security, and then another line for customs. We were worried we would not make our flight to Newark but then the flight got delayed by an hour and was scheduled to takeoff at 8pm. We got to our gate at 7pm and not one announcement was made. One lady asked if we were boarding soon and they said yes but time just kept going by still with no updates/announcements. Finally at 8:45pm they announce our flight has been cancelled due to bad weather, which was not true it was because they had no crew/pilot. Of course we ask what are we suppose to do we are 8hr away from home. They tell us we can book a hotel nearby. Of course they said there are no vouchers for hotel rooms, rent a car, taxis, trains, nothing it all has to come out of our pockets. Our next question is when is our next flight, their response Tuesday July 4th (2 days from Sunday). The flight they rebooked us for was not even in the same airport. They also said everyone must grab their luggage and exit the airport, so they kicked us out and left us with nowhere to go. We spent 1,000 just on hotels and stranded in Canada for 2 days. I am appalled they would treat their customers like this and scam us out of our money. They are con artists. NEVER FLY WITH THEM WORST AIRLINE EVER!
