Not what i was expecting, they made me put the whole money i had and they never wanted to give me back. The money was in the wallet but i never had access to it. That made me cry so hard until i was able to get some help. My helper is the name on my headline and i hope you don't make the same mistake.

Having fallen victim to this scam company, I knew I messed up by trusting them with my hard earned funds, but with proof of my personal experience with them, Phildamian 15@&ma1l, c0m helped with no upfront payments after receiving my mail.

Purchased this in advance with high hopes, in the meantime the chip came out and every time I go to use the coin the machine asks me to insert card and I can't because the coin doesn't have the chip that is unique to each of my credit cards: ( I contacted support and demanded a refund for a piece of crap that only works at 1 of the store I frequent because they have not upgraded their credit card scanner yet and they say too bad, we already put your name on it! HUH? You sold me a piece of crap that doesn't work as intended... bad MODEL!

I pre-ordered a Coin over a year ago. The company was supposed to deliver in 6 months, but it's been more like 18 months. I did, however, finally get mine in the mail. It does allow you to configure it with cards using a plug-in dongle connecting through the headset port on an iPhone (working somewhat like the Square credit card reader).

After configuring it, I began to use it. Sometimes the merchant's reader scans it fine. And sometimes the reader can't read it. My experience, while limited, has been it works about 50% of the time.

The attraction of Coin is that you could load it with your credit cards and take a single card and leave the multiple real ones at home. With a 50% performance rate, you will still need to carry all your cards with you, thus defeating the purpose of having a Coin in the first place. Add to that the impending migration to chip-and-sign from swipe-and-sign, and the Coin not only doesn't perform the task its supposed to perform, it's already obsolete.

Don't waste your money. Walk away.

The concept is genius and the fact they have already pre sold so many cards means people really want this thing. I do wonder though if a larger company will sweep in and just create a better and more effective version of something like this. I am just about to place a pre order because it is so cheap and to be the first one to get a coin card. I do have my hesitations and I wish a large banking company would create a similar product which I could trust. Google wallet is the obvious next evolution of the coin card. I still have to hand it to onlycoin.com as they are the pioneers.
