I recently ordered three succulents and I just can't believe how fast I received them! They all came with the normal stuff that goes along with shipping Succulents. I don't know what all the negative reviews are about I emailed customer service about something and was immediately responded to. In my opinion their customer service via email is five stars all day! I will definitely order from them again! They also included the heat pack for free! Other places charge you three dollars to five dollars extra for a heat pack!
I received my goldcrest cypress tree from hirts, ordered thru walmart. The plant was cramed in the box w/ main stim bent over. Would have been ok if they would put a bamboo stick in the pot to keep from sliding back and forth. I put a review on their site that they didn't post and didn't even reach out with a replacement. Now i have a tree with no main stem.

They're overnight shipping is a lie and their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced in a greenhouse industry. I own a one acre flower garden to keep my mind busy. I tried them out because I saw their advertisement. Lord I wish I hadn't they overcharged me I did not receive my product and I was told basically to bug off.
I ordered six plants online. 5 of them were tiny tiny plants barely rooted into their pots. When i contacted customer service he was not helpful and told me "there's some roots there". The customer service was awful and these plants all died within weeks.

Received plants that were soooo much smaller than the advertised photo of the plant. It will take a year for this slow growing plant to even look like the advertisement. Very unethical advertising.
Update: partial refund issued due to small size

I ordered four plants to help clean my indoor air since my allergies have been acting up. I was unsure how the plants would come since they're being shipped over several days. All 4 plants were in PERFECT condition and separately wrapped. So satisfied!
Ordered from their store on Walmart.com. They tacked on a $99 shrub planting service that I don't need or want through Angi. I can't even change or cancel this so called service because I don't have an account/password set up with this company that they used. I've reached out to them and received no response. They also mailed me the plants, one was in pretty bad shape but may be able to be nursed back. The other was scattered to the bottom of the box, roots and stems torn to pieces. No way to help the poor thing. I wouldn't recommend purchasing online from them. Worse online plant shopping experience I've ever had. Go elsewhere. Many other sellers ship their plants well and don't add these service charges.
I just got an online Buddleia Buzz and a large stem was broken off during shipping. I'm pretty disappointed. Annie's Annuals and Perennials ships plants so much better.
Tip for consumers:
Be careful of what’s being shipped. A rather
delicate plant? Forget it!

I have bought Hirt's products for more than 2 years (via Amazon, Walmart or directly from Hirt's). They always packed extremely well in a box. I recently purchased 'Yellow Dancing Lady Orchid' and 'Red Star Hawaiian Ti Plant'. One item was missing in the box. I wrote to the customer service. They resent the missing item immediately. I am writing this review b/c I would like to let you know that they not only have the best product but also have the best customer service. I will continue to buy from this company again and plan to make Hirt's my go to nursery. I recommend you do the same.

I ordered 5 plants all of which arrived without labels attached and in somewhat rough shape (soil loss during shipment and dehydration) My husband and I immediately called and voiced our concerns with the order. The customer service was outstanding. They were understanding and concerned about the issue and within minutes made it right for us. This is a family owned business and I am still glad I supported them and will likely give them another shot. Their customer service made all the difference and made what could've been a negative experience into a positive one.
I ordered several hydrangea plants and was seriously happy at the price and size of the plants. They forgot 3 but hopefully they'll remedy the mistake.

Hirts is just around the corner from me and they have a large selection of unusual plants and many appear in very nice condition. However, they seem to employ too many uncaring and incompetent employees. Along with the healthy plants are many in bad condition. At times many of the plants seem to be over watered and rotting and I believe the employees ship the dying ones out anyway. I recently bought some rhubarb that looked beautiful, only to fine one was totally rotting. I went back to replace it and even though they looked ok on top, a closer check found many to be badly rotted. I was not offered a replacement plant and when I mentioned that many of the ones they had were rotting, I was totally ignored, as if she couldn't be bothered with customer satisfaction.
I ordered from Hirts.com three days ago, it should be noted I live in Ohio so that's why I got my plant so quickly, but it arrived in pretty good shape, I ordered a Whitney snake plant and other than the tips being a little bent and some dirt in the box it was perfect, they even included a heat pack in my box, which I did not pay any extra for! Over all would order from them again, the plant looks healthy and I am happy.
I recently have decided to help my grandmother with her garden. Nowadays it's quite cold outside, so we recently carried all her flowers and various plants inside the house and they require more care. I started to search for various websites where I could buy fertilizers. I noticed this company and decided to get acquainted with the assortment here. I liked couple of fertilizers and moreover my grandmother approved my choice, so I ordered them here and they were shipped pretty fast. I guess I will certainly apply here once again i nfuture when we will run out of these ones.
Bought a plant from them online and looked nothing like the picture or size. A total rip-off. Terrible

Photo below shows $40 of plants. Im 5'3 and have very tiny hands. So thats bad... But then i pick one up to show the crap quality and a spider dangling off it so i diotome-earthed the hell out of these poor baby, stressed out ferns... of whatever, because 3 came in a pack without care instructions... So species.i have no clue. I have an app called "greg" that helps me or it would be a long google process. The unknown 3 are from the $9.99 fairy garden variety. I know some are tropical so am i about to get bit by a tropical spider? Great. A $40 present on my bday and it will be the death of me... I say, Shop etsy or succulent box. Ive have better amazon experiences. I swear. First hirts box before this was even worse because they were all on sale so none came w names. One of them was totally trash and the others were starting to rot but i somehow nursed them to health... Im a total noob, mind u, so the only experience prior was with succulents i put in a pot too big and killed. So lucky for that batch, i somehow worked all the kinks out enough for them to thrive and survive the beginning rot stages. Rot was what i had the most experience in, i suppose. This was my second try because the first one, as crappy as it was, the price was awesome. I guess all being on sale. But for the same quality of plants, double the price. Nah! I pass next time
I cannot express how grateful I am for all the time and dedication put into the packaging of all my plants. They were all very healthy with an exception of my mini monsteras (due to very cold weather and traveling across the country.) I plan to make Hirt's my go to nursery.

Enjoy the prices. They are great!

I purchased 5 Preying Mantis cases from this company early in march. I immediatly placed them in the windowed hatching bag as the instruction described and kept them on a window sill. I placed them outside, still in the bag for a couple nice days that reached the 60's. Still no sign of life. The egg cases are kind-of rough looking with holes like they were already hatched. I contacted the company to no avail. I requested a replacement or refund but have not heard back. May 1st is the "8 week" mark that they say it could take to emerge but I don't think it's going to happen. I believe they sent me old egg cases that may have already hatched. I don't recommend this company.

Paid for 2 plants and 2 seperate gift wrap charges ($5.99) a piece. Only one plant was shipped and the "gift wrapping" was comprised of bubble wrap and someone printing out my card onto office paper and taping it on the flaps of the box. Do not use this company. Save your money and do it yourself.
Tip for consumers:
Just don't
I wanted some smallish plants to put in crevices in a stone wall and ordered six from Hirt's--santolina, thyme, sedum, and a lavender (the last an experiment). The plants were shipped the next day, arrived in a few days via USPS. I was surprised at how carefully the plants were packed--all were in great shape. I can only recommend.
Tip for consumers:
Just remember that the plants are not HUGE.

Don't order plants from these people. They have NO customer service and refuse to replace dying plants.

I received my order all infected with mealybugs. Immediately contacted and told I repackaged immediately because of my other plants. Was told they need a picture of each plant. No I will not risk infecting my well established plant collection to show you bugs you knowingly mailed to me. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE PAST REVIEWS!
Tip for consumers:
Don't do it

I received it and was amazed at how well it was packed. I will have no problem with future purchases.
I order two plants of monstera and they arrived unhealthy. When checking the roots, they sent me dead cuttings instead of an actual healthy plants. Had I known I'm ordering cuttings, I would of never place them order. Spend about $70 of dead cuttings is a total scam. I emailed them and they refuse to resolve the problem. Horrible customer service.
