I am renting an apartment in canada. The landlord says he lives in UK, and that I pay zoopla my first and last months rent as a third party... then he takes keys to Zoopla who mail me keys. Is he honest?

Why exactly would you want to pay someone first and then MAIL the keys? I've seen these rental scams on other free-for-all websites, and this guy was literally spamming the same scam with different properties. He claims that he's living in the UK and the money sent over then will mail the keys. It's basic logics that you should be taking more precautions than this.
